NEW ORLEANS (press release) – NOLA RESISTANCE emerged onto the New Orleans music scene with a mission—to blend the eternal spirit of the city’s music with progressive activism. Their debut album, “Nola Resistance,” released in 2019, was hailed as a “21st Century record of protest,” featuring funkified updates of iconic message songs. Conceived by veteran music producer Matt Dillon and Union Labor Leader, Brian D’Arcy, the band’s core, rooted in groups like the New Orleans Big Band, embodied the city’s rich musical legacy. Building on their debut’s success, NOLA RESISTANCE’s second album, “Crescent City Connection,” introduced a stellar lineup of Crescent City all-stars. With luminaries like Herlin Riley, Darrell Lavigne, and June Yamagishi, the band expanded its sonic palette.
