Hope all is well. I have two questions for you. (1.) Would you enforce us to make pancakes without flour if you discovered gluten-free methods were becoming popular? (2.) Would you eradicate the usage of all pens or pencils just because we now have the keyboard? No. I’m sure you wouldn’t.
As a matter of fact, I believe you would provide us with the option to decide. The rectangular grid system is uprooting a fundamental element that made IG what it was. Remember back in the day when IG filters came with a SQUARE frame option? In the grand scheme of things, this is obviously a 1st world problem, but in regards to making the decision to keep the rectangular system, I’ve noticed that even you haven’t made your mind... You’ve changed it back and forth several times, and of my two profiles, sometimes one of them has a square profile grid, and the other has rectangle, and that’s just from me toggling from... I believe a rectangle display works as a fantastic method for displaying IG Reels, but I think we can all agree that squares are a foundational display method.
I would suggest maybe adding an option in the settings menu so users, like myself, have the option to display a rectangular or square profile feed at their own discretion. Hope this helps. I have paid to verify both my instagram and my Facebook. When I go through the identification process it stops me at the two factor authentication. I have this both enabled on my Facebook and my Instagram. I have every authentication enabled from phone, to authentication app, to what’s app etc.
it still does not detect it’s turned on. When I turned it off and back on it asked to verify my name and profile photo. I do then I get an error that says “page isn’t available right now. This may be because of a technical error that we’re working on to get fixed. Try reloading the page.” I reload and the same error occurs and I have to force quit the app to get instagram to open again. I have shook my phone so many times and reported the error and attached screenshots and the issue still remains.
I keep getting messages on instagram please verify your identity to finish signing up for meta verified but your app won’t let me. There is no way to talk to customer support when you’re trying to sign up. You can only talk once you’re signed up. That’s unhelpful. If you’re trying to generate revenue have a place where people who want to pay to get verified receive customer service help. You’re loosing revenue because your system is not working for people who want to sign up for meta verification.
I really like scrolling through the videos in this app. I think it could replace TikTok if ever outlawed. Posting is pretty easy. It keeps up with the times well. But my biggest complaint is moderation. Moderators on this app are the most incompetent of anything I’ve ever seen.
There are people that use AI to make themselves look like they have Down syndrome and post an onlyfans account and sexualize themselves and this genetic condition. I reported them, and often they do not get removed, which is sick. I have reported actual cyber bullying, and Instagram does nothing. But my account got flagged for one comment AFTER I deleted it. The moderation on that app is the absolute most incompetent and unprofessional and unethical of anything I’ve ever seen. I will not be giving more than 3 stars until I see an improvement on cracking down on immoral behavior.
Instagram also allows hate speech and harmful messages about taking rights away from others, presumably because of “free speech”. I am not sure what the moderators are on, but it isn’t moral. TikTok is better about this. I have just stopped using it because of my mental health. Also, you need options to delete all your comments at once or remove all your likes. I have wanted to start fresh and it takes way too much effort.
Some of the settings work like a high schooler programmed it in a programming class instead of an actual app. I like most of the app, but these issues need resolving. Instagram[a] is an American photo and short-form video sharing social networking service owned by Meta Platforms. It allows users to upload media that can be edited with filters, be organized by hashtags, and be associated with a location via geographical tagging. Posts can be shared publicly or with preapproved followers. Users can browse other users' content by tags and locations, view trending content, like photos, and follow other users to add their content to a personal feed.[7] A Meta-operated image-centric social media platform, it...
Users can take photos and edit them using built-in filters and other tools, then share them on other social media platforms like Facebook. It supports 33 languages including English, Hindi, Spanish, French, Japanese, and Korean.[8] Instagram was originally distinguished by allowing content to be framed only in a square (1:1) aspect ratio of 640 pixels to match the display width of the iPhone at the time. In 2015, this restriction was eased with an increase to 1080 pixels. It also added messaging features, the ability to include multiple images or videos in a single post, and a Stories feature—similar to its main competitor, Snapchat, which allowed users to post their content to... As of January 2019, Stories was used by 500 million people daily.[7]
The Burbn Beta app was made available for iOS on October 6, 2010, by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger — still as a prototype, but for the first time available as a real app... The app received around 25,000 registrations that day, though it remained a public beta. Six days later, on October 12, 2010, the final stable non-beta version was officially released under a new name — Instagram.[9] This renaming gave an even bigger response, it rapidly gained popularity, reaching 1... In April 2012, Facebook acquired the service for approximately US$1 billion in cash and stock. The Android version of Instagram was released in April 2012, followed by a feature-limited desktop interface in November 2012, a Fire OS app in June 2014, an app for Windows 10 in October 2016,... Although often admired for its success and influence, Instagram has also been criticized for negatively affecting teens' mental health, its policy and interface changes, its alleged censorship, and illegal and inappropriate content uploaded by...
Instagram began development in San Francisco as Burbn, a mobile check-in app created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger. On March 5, 2010, Systrom closed a $500,000 (equivalent to $700,000 in 2024) seed funding round with Baseline Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz while working on Burbn.[10][11] Realizing that it was too similar to Foursquare,... Josh Riedel joined the company in October as Community Manager,[15] Shayne Sweeney joined in November as an engineer,[15] and Jessica Zollman joined as a Community Evangelist in August 2011.[15][16]
