Nfl Mock Draft 2025 2 Round Edition Predictions For Travis Hunter
The 2024 college football season is officially underway and we've gotten our first chance to see some of the best prospects in the country make a first impression on NFL teams. That includes Colorado superstar prospects Travis Hunter, one of the most versatile players at any level of football, and Shedeur Sanders, who could be the QB1 of the 2025 NFL Draft. Call us prisoners of the moment, but the display we saw from both Hunter and Sanders in their season-opener against North Dakota State definitely got them both off on the right foot as far... We also had the legendary Dane Brugler drop a top 50 players list recently, giving some insight into which players could be the most coveted by NFL teams going into the 2024 season. To determine the order for this 2025 NFL mock draft, I used the order of teams in my final preseason power rankings before the regular season starts. With that in mind, let's jump into the picks, including an extreme rarity of all 32 teams being included in the 1st round.
There is absolutely no denying that Travis Hunter is an electric talent. Even though you expect a team like Colorado to put up numbers against an FCS team (even a powerhouse at that level like NDSU), it’s obvious that Hunter is special. He passes the eye test, he makes ridiculous plays, and he has the look of a future superstar at receiver in the NFL. The Panthers picking 1st overall might consider the QB Shedeur Sanders here, but Hunter could be the best overall talent in the class. The Las Vegas Raiders have the single worst quarterback situation in the NFL right now. Getting Shedeur Sanders would give them a fighting chance in a division with Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert already established as stars and the Broncos potentially finding their guy in Bo Nix.
Sanders has all of the tools to be an effective starter immediately. As the prospect-evaluation period winds down, it's time for me to take a second crack at projecting Round 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft (April 24-26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin). Trades obviously will be a major element of the real thing next month, but just like in my first mock, I'm keeping everyone in their current draft slots. It appears the Titans continue to be open for business with the No. 1 overall pick. In this scenario, they stay at No.
1 and find their new face of the franchise. Sanders fits head coach Kevin Stefanski's run-first, heavy play-action attack quite well. I wouldn’t rule out a quarterback for the Giants here if Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders were available, even after the signings of Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. With the top QBs already off the board in this mock, New York lands the prospect many believe is the best player in the draft. The Patriots have addressed needs on defense and at receiver in free agency, but they shouldn’t stop at Stefon Diggs and Mack Hollins when it comes to adding more weapons for Drake Maye. We know Hunter can impact the game on both sides of the ball, but New England can’t pass on a chance to truly strike fear into defenses for the first time in a while...
The NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis this week is a pivotal time for the pre-draft process. Teams across the league have narrowed down their draft boards and will be meeting with prospects for interviews that could help determine who they take in with their first-round pick. Acing those interviews, combine drills and passing medical evaluations will be key for hundreds of prospects. In a class lacking lots of top-tier talent, a good showing in all three phases of the combine could make a difference of a round come April's NFL draft. This draft class boasts one of the best running back groups in years along with deep classes at edge rusher, interior defensive line, interior offensive line and tight end. That knowledge could play into how teams make their decisions in the first two rounds of the NFL draft.
2025 NFL draft big board: Travis Hunter, Abdul Carter lead consensus top 50 prospects 2025 NFL draft: Pro comparisons for Travis Hunter, Abdul Carter and other top 10 players Colorado Swiss army knife Travis Hunter is one of the most unique NFL Draft prospects in years. The Heisman contender is considered one of the best prospects at both wide receiver and cornerback, raising legitimate questions about his highest-ceiling position in the league. Below we take a look at Hunter’s 2024 season, his projected landing spot in our latest mock draft, player comparisons, and more. In the latest mock draft from Pro Football Network NFL Draft Analyst Ian Cummings, Hunter was selected No.
3 overall by the Tennessee Titans. Here’s what Cummings had to say on Hunter’s potential fit in Nashville, Tenn.: “The Titans didn’t have a chance to pick one of the two top quarterbacks in this 2025 NFL Mock Draft, but they still came away with a blue-chip talent in Travis Hunter. And with Hunter, they can toy with the idea of adding an evolutionary playmaker at WR or CB. The Philadelphia Eagles emphatically ended the 2024 NFL season by dominating the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. The focus of the pro football world now shifts toward Titletown, U.S.A., where the 2025 NFL Draft will take place at the end of April.
In a tale as old as time itself, quarterback-needy teams once again outnumber reasonable first-round options, which means multiple picks in the top-five could be on the trading block, beginning with the Tennessee Titans... Draft boards are starting to solidify with the scouting combine two weeks away. We have the next two-plus months to dissect the possibilities, and every other aspect of the draft. Well, ladies and gentlemen, we are just days away from the start of the NFL Draft. That means it's time for the next edition of the OutKick NFL Mock Draft! Obviously, much has changed since we put out our first mock draft in late January.
Let's dive in… Nothing has changed from my first mock draft with the #1 overall pick. When you look around the league, one thing is clear: teams need a good quarterback. The Titans haven't had one in a while, so they have to take a shot here. Clearly, Ward is the top option this year. The Browns could use a quarterback following the Deshaun Watson debacle, but my sense is that they're not in love with any of the options after Ward.
While people might scream "trade down!," teams have to find a willing partner. If no one likes the quarterbacks, then it's going to be hard to get a huge return for this pick. I think they will stay here and take the two-way threat in Hunter. In OutKick's second mock draft of the 2025 NFL Draft season, the Browns select Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter. The Giants are in a similar position as the Browns, and they are likely to also go with the "Best Player Available" route, rather than force it with a quarterback they don't love. Carter fits the bill as a potential game-wrecker at the NFL level, and you can never have too many great pass rushers in the modern NFL.
