Two Round 2025 Nfl Mock Draft Both Travis Hunter And Shedeur Sanders
The 2025 NFL Draft is just weeks away. That's why yours truly is coming to you with a fourth mock draft. At this stage in the draft cycle, there's not much more to sort through. The picture at the top of the NFL Draft has shifted now that pro days are in the books. There is a new order for the top four picks with 2024 Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter (WR/CB) flying up the board and quarterback Shedeur Sanders sliding after Colorado's pro day. Without further ado, here's my mock draft 4.0!
For more draft coverage, you can hear in-depth analysis twice a week on "With the First Pick" -- our year-round NFL Draft podcast with analyst Ryan Wilson. You can find "With the First Pick" wherever you get your podcasts: Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, etc. The 2025 NFL Draft is to take place from April 24-26 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. More draft coverage can be found at CBSSports.com, including the weekly mock drafts and a regularly available look at the eligible prospects. The 2024 college football season is officially underway and we've gotten our first chance to see some of the best prospects in the country make a first impression on NFL teams. That includes Colorado superstar prospects Travis Hunter, one of the most versatile players at any level of football, and Shedeur Sanders, who could be the QB1 of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Call us prisoners of the moment, but the display we saw from both Hunter and Sanders in their season-opener against North Dakota State definitely got them both off on the right foot as far... We also had the legendary Dane Brugler drop a top 50 players list recently, giving some insight into which players could be the most coveted by NFL teams going into the 2024 season. To determine the order for this 2025 NFL mock draft, I used the order of teams in my final preseason power rankings before the regular season starts. With that in mind, let's jump into the picks, including an extreme rarity of all 32 teams being included in the 1st round. There is absolutely no denying that Travis Hunter is an electric talent. Even though you expect a team like Colorado to put up numbers against an FCS team (even a powerhouse at that level like NDSU), it’s obvious that Hunter is special.
He passes the eye test, he makes ridiculous plays, and he has the look of a future superstar at receiver in the NFL. The Panthers picking 1st overall might consider the QB Shedeur Sanders here, but Hunter could be the best overall talent in the class. The Las Vegas Raiders have the single worst quarterback situation in the NFL right now. Getting Shedeur Sanders would give them a fighting chance in a division with Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert already established as stars and the Broncos potentially finding their guy in Bo Nix. Sanders has all of the tools to be an effective starter immediately. The NFL Scouting Combine is here, with less than two months to go before teams will go on the clock for the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft on April 25.

There are some big changes in the first round, but here's looking beyond the top-32 projections for what kind of prospect talent will be available for teams picking through No. 64 overall: The Titans will consider quarterback, but they can't ignore their need for a disruptive, dominant pass rusher. Carter can take over games with his active, relentless playmaking. Our 2025 NFL Mock Draft with expert two-round predictions, top prospects, and team selections for the upcoming draft: Cam Ward, Abdul Carter, Travis Hunter, and more.
We are officially in NFL Draft season with the Senior Bowl and Super Bowl out of the way. Before we jump into this mock, one thing worth noting is that these predictions are not what I would do. These picks won't always follow my prospect rankings, either. If you want to see how I stack up the players in this class, head over to my initial Top 50 Prospects list. However, if you want to see how I think other teams will select or value players, you can read on. The other thing worth noting before we begin is this: a lot will change after free agency.
Today, we are guessing on a variety of factors, including where free agents land or leave and what the medical reports will look like. Because we are not soothsayers, free agency could make our mocks in March or April look drastically different than this. We start things off with a trade right off the bat. Kiper predicted Miami quarterback Cam Ward to go No. 1 overall to the Tennessee Titans, followed by Colorado wide receiver and cornerback Travis Hunter to the Cleveland Browns at No. 2 and Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders to the New York Giants at No. 3. The top 10 selections in Kiper's first mock are as follows: 1.
Tennessee Titans: Cam Ward, QB, Miami 2. Cleveland Browns: Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado The Titans have kept things quiet, but they have not signed a veteran quarterback or made a move to trade this pick. Thus, Tennessee’s actions suggest they targeting a quarterback with the first pick. I personally am not high on Cam Ward, but my mock drafts are a projection of what I think teams WILL do and not what they SHOULD do.
Hence, I think Tennessee will take Ward at No. 1 overall. In 2024, Ward completed 67 percent of his passes for 4,313 yards with 39 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He had four rushing touchdowns as well. Ward (6-2, 223) is considered to be a good leader and he has an adequate arm to distribute the ball throughout the field. He is at his best when plays break down, and he makes something happen off-script.
Ward holds the ball too long, needs to improve his internal clock, and has some athletic limitations for the NFL. Multiple team sources feel that Ward could be a poor man’s Russell Wilson as a pro quarterback. Ward was a point machine over the previous three seasons at Washington State, generating a prolific number of touchdowns. He broke out in 2021, completing 65 percent of his passes for 4,638 yards, 47 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. In 2022, Ward completed 64 percent of his passes for 3,231 yards with 23 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Ward then completed 67 percent of his passes in 2023 for 3,735 yards, 25 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
He also notched eight rushing touchdowns during 2023, which matched the total of his ground scores from the previous three seasons. Ward flirted with transferring to Miami or Florida State before deciding to enter the 2024 NFL Draft, backing out, and completing the transfer to the Hurricanes. It sounds like Cleveland is leaning towards Hunter with the second pick, and he might be a receiver for them. I think the Browns are enamored with the idea of adding Hunter and then maybe trading back into the first round for Shedeur Sanders. In 2024, Hunter had 96 receptions for 1,258 yards with 15 touchdowns receiving and one rushing. He has 35 tackles with four interceptions, 11 passes broken up, and a forced fumble on defense.
Hunter flashed dominant cover ability in 2023 with 31 tackles, three interceptions, and five passes defended before getting injured and missing some time. As a receiver, he provided some big plays to the Buffs’ offense, catching 57 passes for 721 yards and five touchdowns. As we reported in the Hot Press, teams were divided on whether Hunter should be a wide receiver or a cornerback in the NFL. The consensus was for Hunter to be an every-down cornerback and a rotational gadget receiver. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder possesses other-worldly ball skills with elite athleticism alongside superb instincts and feel. Hunter is not the biggest of players, and teams have some durability concerns with him.
However, he projects as a potential No. 1 corner in the NFL. With the Browns, Hunter could be their No. 1 receiver. The Giants take the best player on their board and add an impact player. Carter could form a dynamic pass-rushing trio with Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux.
In 2024, Carter had 68 tackles with 12 sacks, two forced fumbles, and four passes broken up. Carter notched 49 tackles, 4.5 sacks, five passes defended, and one interception in 2023. In 2022, he made his presence felt as a freshman with 56 tackles, 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and four passes defended. Carter is extremely fast off the ball, and his rare explosiveness is even more dynamic with his ability to bend off the edge. While Carter (6-3 250) is a dangerous speed rusher off the edge, and he has the versatility to play Sam linebacker as well. Penn State lined him up inside the linebacker and rushed off the edge, so he already had experience moving around the defensive front.
