Josh Allen Runs Into Buffalo Bills History Surpassing Hall Of Fame
The Buffalo Bills entered Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season knowing that the Baltimore Ravens would be out for blood. After all, the Bills were the ones who knocked them out of the playoffs last season, in dramatic fashion to boot, so the Ravens were looking for revenge on Sunday Night Football. Unfortunately, the Ravens jumped out to a 20-13 lead at halftime and pushed the spread to 15, taking a 34-19 lead into the fourth quarter. If not for future Hall of Fame quarterback Josh Allen, the game would have gotten out of hand much quicker. Allen continued his heroics in the early part of the fourth quarter, running in a touchdown from the two-yard line to make it a nine-point game. This rushing touchdown actually eclipsed a bit of Bills history for him, further making his case for Canton one day.
On Sunday, Allen tallied his 66th career rushing touchdown in the NFL, which means that he is now Buffalo's all-time leader in rushing touchdowns. He surpassed the legendary Thurman Thomas, who previously held the record with 65 touchdowns. This record has stood since Thomas left the Bills in 1999, so Allen is once again in rarified air. It took Thomas 2,849 carries over 12 seasons with the franchise to earn this mark, while Allen did it in just over seven seasons and 766 carries. Josh Allen just made history—again. With a 4th-quarter rushing touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens, Allen notched his 66th career rushing TD, becoming the Buffalo Bills’ all-time leader and passing Hall of Fame running back Thurman Thomas.
At just 29 years old, Allen continues to redefine what it means to be a quarterback, setting records year in and year out while leading the charge as one of the NFL’s most dangerous... Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen made NFL history Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. In finding the end zone three times en route to a blowout win, Allen notched his 46th career game with both a passing and rushing touchdown. That surpassed the mark of 45 such games that Cam Newton racked up throughout his career, making Allen the NFL's new leader. Coincidentally, Allen broke the record against Newton's old team.
The history-making touchdown came in thrilling fashion, too. Allen hit Khalil Shakir for an explosive 54-yard scoring pass with 12:18 left in the third quarter, which at the time extended the Bills' lead to 23 points. He notched his first rushing score earlier in the game when he punched the ball in from a yard out late in the second quarter. The lunge into the end zone made him just the second quarterback in league history with 70 career rushing touchdowns.

We all know Josh Allen's path to the Buffalo Bills made a stop through Laramie, Wyoming. But now, he'll be living there forever. Allen is one of seven members in the Cowboys' 2025 sports Hall of Fame class. The induction will take place on September 5, just days before the Bills open the 2025 NFL season on Sunday Night Football against the Baltimore Ravens. The 2024 NFL MVP was able to talk to the Buffalo media Tuesday about the selection.
He said it was a "very cool" honor and reflected on being a part of the Wyoming athletics' lore for eternity. "To be remembered there, and coach [Craig] Bohl and the University of Wyoming, obviously, wouldn't be here without them," said Allen following Tuesday's practice, who surprised Allen amid the induction coming up. "It's very cool to be honored by something so close and near to my heart. It's a pretty cool achievement." "I wouldn't be here without them. #BillsMafia pic.twitter.com/SpLHFcYLOk Josh Allen didn’t just beat the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. He beat one of their legends, too. The Buffalo Bills quarterback passed former Panthers star Cam Newton for the most games in NFL history with both a passing and rushing touchdown, doing it for the 46th time in his career. Allen reached the milestone with a 1-yard rushing score in the second quarter, then added a short pass to Khalil Shakir in the third quarter that turned into a 54-yard touchdown after multiple broken... Allen later ran for another 1-yard touchdown, his second of the day.
"It's cool," Allen shrugged regarding breaking Newton's record. "Just finding a way to win. That's all we're trying to do." The performance also pushed Allen further up the league’s all-time rushing touchdown list. He now ranks 35th in NFL history, and second among active players, behind only Derrick Henry (111), with 70 rushing touchdowns, more than Larry Csonka, Herschel Walker and Eddie George. Going full speed ahead, as has been emblematic of his career, Josh Allen reached a milestone marker Thursday.
Allen notched his 200th career touchdown pass in the Buffalo Bills' 31-21 win over the Miami Dolphins, tying for the sixth-fastest player in NFL history to do so. Playing in his 114th career game, Allen's road to 200 touchdown passes came quicker than anyone but arch-frenemy Patrick Mahomes (84 games), Hall of Famer Dan Marino (89), Aaron Rodgers (99), Hall of Famer... He tied current players Kirk Cousins, Dak Prescott and Russell Wilson. Allen, 29, entered Thursday needing three TDs to hit 200 and got them with scoring passes to Dalton Kincaid, Jackson Hawes and Khalil Shakir, who caught TD No. 200 in the fourth quarter. His touchdown pass to Kincaid was his 300th total (passing and rushing) TD, including the playoffs.
It's not all that surprising that Allen had a highlight-filled evening against the Dolphins. He's tallied 45 total TDs, with 40 passing scores, in 15 games against Miami -- both his most against any opponent -- and is 13-2 (8-0 at home). Josh Allen continues his march into the NFL record books, occupying rarified air in the process Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen played an incredibly efficient and dominating game against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1. Though he had attempted just two passes at the two-minute warning before halftime, Allen made Arizona pay for their defensive decisions in the second half. In helping the Bills secure a victory at home, Allen recorded his fourth game with two passing touchdowns and two rushing scores, tying former San Fransisco 49ers and NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Steve...
Going 18-of-23 for 232 yards, Allen helped the Bills climb out of an early 17-3 deficit for a dramatic 34-28 win over the Cardinals. Allen also added nine rushing attempts (one kneel down) for 39 yards on the ground and those two aforementioned touchdowns. His day could have gone even better, considering Allen also had a rushing touchdown called back on the Bills’ first drive of the game — due to an offensive facemask penalty by right guard... Allen is now just two rushing touchdowns away from tying former Bills running back O.J. Simpson for second all-time in Buffalo Bills history (57). There’s a realistic chance Allen could even climb into first place all-time on the Bills’ list of rushing touchdown leaders.
