bills josh allen heading into hall of fame after transforming the stat

We all know Josh Allen's path to the Buffalo Bills made a stop through Laramie, Wyoming. But now, he'll be living there forever. Allen is one of seven members in the Cowboys' 2025 sports Hall of Fame class. The induction will take place on September 5, just days before the Bills open the 2025 NFL season on Sunday Night Football against the Baltimore Ravens. The 2024 NFL MVP was able to talk to the Buffalo media Tuesday about the selection. He said it was a "very cool" honor and reflected on being a part of the Wyoming athletics' lore for eternity.

"To be remembered there, and coach [Craig] Bohl and the University of Wyoming, obviously, wouldn't be here without them," said Allen following Tuesday's practice, who surprised Allen amid the induction coming up. "It's very cool to be honored by something so close and near to my heart. It's a pretty cool achievement." "I wouldn't be here without them. Fresh off of being named the NFL MVP earlier this month, Buffalo Bills star quarterback Josh Allen is in line for another notable commendation. He was one of seven former University of Wyoming athletes named Saturday to the UW Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame. “The most popular and dynamic player ever to play at UW, Josh Allen brought the national spotlight to Wyoming football,” the university said in a statement. The last three months have been a whirlwind for Allen, who also got engaged to Hollywood actress Hailee Steinfeld in November. Hailing from Firebaugh, California, Allen, a junior college transfer, quarterbacked the Wyoming Cowboys to two consecutive eight-win seasons, two bowl games and the Mountain West Championship game in 2016. The Buffalo Bills entered Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season knowing that the Baltimore Ravens would be out for blood.

After all, the Bills were the ones who knocked them out of the playoffs last season, in dramatic fashion to boot, so the Ravens were looking for revenge on Sunday Night Football. Unfortunately, the Ravens jumped out to a 20-13 lead at halftime and pushed the spread to 15, taking a 34-19 lead into the fourth quarter. If not for future Hall of Fame quarterback Josh Allen, the game would have gotten out of hand much quicker. Allen continued his heroics in the early part of the fourth quarter, running in a touchdown from the two-yard line to make it a nine-point game. This rushing touchdown actually eclipsed a bit of Bills history for him, further making his case for Canton one day. On Sunday, Allen tallied his 66th career rushing touchdown in the NFL, which means that he is now Buffalo's all-time leader in rushing touchdowns.

He surpassed the legendary Thurman Thomas, who previously held the record with 65 touchdowns. This record has stood since Thomas left the Bills in 1999, so Allen is once again in rarified air. It took Thomas 2,849 carries over 12 seasons with the franchise to earn this mark, while Allen did it in just over seven seasons and 766 carries. The Buffalo Bills are currently gearing up for the 2025 NFL season, where they will hope to hoist the Lombardi Trophy for the first time in their franchise's storied history. Under center for the Bills will be reigning league MVP quarterback Josh Allen, who carried an undermanned roster to the AFC Championship Game a season ago. Recently, Allen received an honor from his college, Wyoming, being inducted into the team's football Hall of Fame.

“I wouldn't be here without them. It's very cool to be honored by something so close and near to my heart,” said Allen in reaction to the news, per the Bills' official team account on X, formerly Twitter. Josh Allen continues his march into the NFL record books, occupying rarified air in the process Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen played an incredibly efficient and dominating game against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1.

Though he had attempted just two passes at the two-minute warning before halftime, Allen made Arizona pay for their defensive decisions in the second half. In helping the Bills secure a victory at home, Allen recorded his fourth game with two passing touchdowns and two rushing scores, tying former San Fransisco 49ers and NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Steve... Going 18-of-23 for 232 yards, Allen helped the Bills climb out of an early 17-3 deficit for a dramatic 34-28 win over the Cardinals. Allen also added nine rushing attempts (one kneel down) for 39 yards on the ground and those two aforementioned touchdowns. His day could have gone even better, considering Allen also had a rushing touchdown called back on the Bills’ first drive of the game — due to an offensive facemask penalty by right guard... Allen is now just two rushing touchdowns away from tying former Bills running back O.J.

Simpson for second all-time in Buffalo Bills history (57). There’s a realistic chance Allen could even climb into first place all-time on the Bills’ list of rushing touchdown leaders.
