2025 Nfl Draft Big Board Travis Hunter Leads Consensus Top 50
The Super Bowl is behind us and with it the end of the 2024 NFL season. Now, it's time for the offseason. We're just over two months away from the 2025 NFL draft, one of the biggest events of the offseason. Rookies were critical to both teams in the Super Bowl and the other 30 franchises across the league will be looking for young, new talent to add to their rosters for the 2025 season. This year's class lacks the star power of the 2024 NFL draft and that leaves room for debate on which players are worthy of a first-round pick. We've compiled big boards from ESPN, Bleacher Report, The Athletic and The 33rd Team to try to paint a clear picture of the top 50 players in the 2025 NFL draft.
There's lots of talent at multiple positions in the class, primarily on the defensive line. Fifteen of the top 50 players on this consensus big board are either classified as a defensive tackle or edge rusher. Defense as a whole has a slight edge with 28 of the top 50 players per these combined big boards. Here are the top 50 players by average ranking across those four big boards. Without a plethora of clear-cut superstar prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft, you are in for a treat this draft season. Why's that?
Because there's bound to be drastically differing opinions of most of the early-round talents, and that diversity always makes this process more fun than if everyone agrees on, say, the Top 20 prospects. I cannot say I've watched every draft-eligible prospect. Far from. But at this reasonably early stage of the 2025 pre-draft process, here's my Top 50 prospects after the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. Pearce could add some weight to his lanky-ish frame. But even despite being somewhat tall and skinny in the SEC, he pieced together back-to-back seasons with elite-level productivity that came from supreme burst, bend, and speed-to-power conversion.
He has an ascending collection of pass-rush moves too. Pearce can win in a hurry and in a variety of ways ... and I think his best football is in front of him. Hunter combines magnificent physical traits with the polish needed to be the second-highest-graded player on my board at cornerback and receiver. I graded him individually at both positions, and that's where he landed. He can be silky smooth, ultra-explosive, and his ridiculously ball-tracking talent is an asset on offense and defense.
Graham is a ready-to-go interior rusher with tenacity, athleticism, powerful hands, and a nonstop motor that revs against the run too. High floor, high ceiling. The 2025 NFL Draft class is rounding into shape, and we’re getting a clearer picture of some of the top prospects and the position groups with the most depth. The top prospect on the board is Colorado’s Travis Hunter, a rare talent with the potential to start at the NFL level as either a wide receiver or cornerback. After Hunter, Penn State stud Abdul Carter, Michigan standout Mason Graham, Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan and Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty are some of the premier players in this draft class. The running back, tight end and offensive tackle positions seem to be the deepest and strongest on the offensive side of the ball.
On defense, the edge defender group is as deep as we’ve seen in several years, dominating the projected top 50. There are also more impact defensive backs this year than a year ago, with plenty of options on all three days of the draft, specifically on Days 2 and 3. Here are PFF's top 350 draft prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft, along with some scouting notes courtesy of lead draft analyst Trevor Sikkema. For the full ranking of draft prospects, along with their three-year player grades and position rankings, click here. Hunter is one of the most talented players I have ever scouted. As a cornerback, he brings good mirror-matching movements and truly elite ball skills.
He can be a bit out of control and lacks some density, which gets exposed the most in press-man coverage. As a primary zone defender with press-man flexibility, he can be an immediate starting cornerback with an All-Pro ceiling. The 2025 NFL Draft is just days away and all 32 teams are busy making final tweaks to their draft boards and devising plans. There is still a lot to be done before the Titans are on the clock, but I have completed my 2025 NFL Draft Big Board and this year it’s “bigger” than ever. This year, I have ranked the top 320 draft prospects. DISCLAIMER: This site and the products offered are for entertainment purposes only, and there is no gambling offered on this site.

The NFL scouting combine kicks off this week, but for teams, the majority of the work to evaluate players has already been completed. For casual observers, the annual event in Indianapolis might serve as an introduction to some of the names that will come to define the next two months in the lead-up to the 2025 NFL... But the interviews, medical checks, testing and drills only serve as the finishing touches to the expansive looks that teams have already given to prospects.
Still, there's room for front offices and coaches to be swayed, so prospects will try to put their best foot forward when they hit the field at Lucas Oil Stadium. Here are our pre-combine top 50 rankings for the 2025 NFL draft: Without hyperbole, football hasn't seen a player like Hunter in quite some time. The Heisman Trophy winner was downright heroic in pulling double duty at cornerback and wide receiver, excelling at each spot despite a workload that would leave almost anyone else winded. While Hunter maintains he wants to keep that up, working primarily at one spot should serve not only his development but also assist with his stamina. His scintillating ball skills could make him a premier talent at either position, though cornerback seems to be the more reasonable attractive play for most teams at this point.
He still has plenty to fine tune, but he's one of the few legitimate game-breaking talents to come through the draft in recent years. If anyone else has a claim to the top spot at this point, it might be Carter. The 6-3, 250-pounder moved from linebacker to defensive end last season and unlocked something special. He gets off the line in an instant and slithers past blockers to close in on the ball carrier. Unlike many other edge rushers with his athleticism, he's not afraid to get physical or work back inside. His bend and burst leave quarterbacks with little hope for escaping his clutches.
As is typical for college edge rushers, he can improve with by expanding his set of pass-rush moves. But the overall package is that of an All-Pro talent. The 2025 NFL scouting combine is officially in the rearview mirror. We spent the week in Indianapolis, learned a lot, and have taken all that new information and delivered a fresh big board. The start of free agency also has better informed team's draft needs after a flurry of signings. The full seven-round draft order is finally set after the NFL distributed 35 compensatory picks to teams — which means the draft itself isn't far off.
We've also updated our most recent mock draft with Cam Ward going No. 1. Here's Yahoo Sports NFL Draft expert Nate Tice's latest big board. As the most dynamic player in the country, Hunter was a game-changer at cornerback and wide receiver in college. Still, I think his best path as a professional is as a full-time defender with some spot duty on offense — a usage resembling his coach/mentor Deion Sanders when he played with the Dallas... Hunter can consistently stay sticky to his coverage assignment, showing off the quickness and body control to thrive in man-to-man situations, with the excellent burst to make plays on the football and nullify the...
He plays with a high level of intelligence for the position, and will take calculated gambles to fall off his coverage assignment and even bait quarterbacks into potential interception opportunities. Hunter’s ball skills and feel for the position are rare. His athleticism is unlocked by his innate ability to always find — and come down with — the football. Hunter just seems to make a big play in every quarter of the game. As the 2025 NFL Draft class continues to take shape, it’s time to take stock of which prospects are going to dominate the conversation for the next few months. Our consensus Big Board combines rankings from a wide range of NFL Draft experts to identify how the top prospects are viewed relative to the rest of their class.
In theory, by the time we reach draft weekend, these rankings should help give us a handle on how the picks could (or, at least, should) play out. Last week, The Athletic draft expert Dane Brugler released a two-round mock draft. How many of the players selected cracked the consensus top 50? Here’s a brief look at the players who made the biggest jumps from our preview consensus top 50: This is an interesting case, to say the least, as Simmons hasn’t played since suffering a season-ending injury against Oregon in October. But he was the 10th pick (Chicago) in Brugler’s latest mock, a good indication that those around the league have confidence in Simmons’ ability — provided everything checks out with his knee.
The NFL draft starts April 24 in Green Bay, Wis. By the time it ends sometime late afternoon on April 26, 256 players will have heard their names called as they realize the first step of their pro football dreams. Here's the Beacon Journal's list of the top 300 prospects heading into the draft, starting with a former Heisman Trophy winner atop the list, even if he appears to be going No. 2 in the draft. The list in divided up into rough tiers, based on where players could potentially fall in the actual draft. 33.
