You can provide access to personal copies, library-subscribed content/books, and openly accessible resources available to your class(es) through Course Reserves and/or online through Canvas. Well-designed, course-related assignments using library resources, tools, etc. are an effective way to introduce students to the research process and help them develop sophisticated research skills. Subject specialists are available to add perspective and/or concrete suggestions for designing/revising assignments. Research and Instruction Librarians can address generative AI in the context of information literacy as is relevant to your course and/or assignments to help prepare students to work with the ongoing evolution of GenAI... Librarians focus their learning objectives on skills, such as prompt generation and evaluation, that are transferable across Northeastern-licensed research databases and tools.

The annual Research, Innovation, and Scholarship Expo (RISE) is an opportunity for students and faculty to showcase their research focused on solutions to real-life problems. In 2021, these presentations were recorded. The What’s New podcast, hosted by Dean of the Library Dan Cohen, is one of the most popular collections in the DRS. It consists of wide-ranging conversations with faculty members across the university. The DRS team also works with professors to host student coursework in the repository. These selections demonstrate how the DRS documents both the climate crisis and the innovation solutions emerging from Northeastern’s academic community.
