Nfl Mock Draft 2025 Pickswise S First Round Picks Predictions
With the 2025 NFL Draft starting on Thursday night, it’s time to produce the final 2025 Pickswise NFL mock draft. As usual, there is a ton of intrigue at the top of the board. We are all but certain of the direction in which Tennessee is taking with the #1 overall pick, but things could get interesting immediately thereafter. The big question, of course, is: when and where will Shedeur Sanders go? That will pretty much shape the entire first round. Trades are expected to be fast and furious, too, so fasten your seatbelts for what could be a wild ride on Thursday in Green Bay.
Let’s try to make sense of the potential madness by projecting picks 1 through 32 of the 2025 NFL Draft. The Titans are perennially bad and once again need a complete reset following the disaster that was the Will Levis experiment. Ward may not be the best overall prospect in this class, but he obviously plays the most important position. Tennessee needs a new face of the franchise. Hunter is probably the best and certainly the most dynamic player on this 2025 draft. He can play both ways at wide receiver and cornerback, which is what he has every intention of doing at the next level.
Abdul Carter is a possibility, but the Browns simply can’t pass up Hunter’s immense potential. Most experts expect the Giants to go with whoever the Browns don’t take between Hunter and Carter. Both of those guys would be good picks, but the bottom line is that they don’t play quarterback. Like Tennessee, New York also requires a total overhaul following its own QB doldrums (ahem, Daniel Jones). Find out our expert’s NFL Draft order predictions for the first 3 picks! As I continue to look into the 2025 NFL Draft class and the pro teams who could be selecting them, here’s another look at where prospects could potentially end up were the draft held...
I’ve changed the vast majority of the picks here relative to my last attempt, so read on to see another possible draft-day scenario. Check out my 2025 NFL Draft scouting reports to see what I thought of each prospect during film review. Feel free to contact me on Twitter @draftexaminer with any feedback or suggestions. There’s not a whole lot to say about this pick that hasn’t been said already. Like others, I think the best indicator the Titans are gearing up to pick Ward is the lack of interest they’ve shown in adding any of the other quarterbacks available. Were they planning on trading down here, they’d likely have at least sniffed around options like Aaron Rodgers.
It’ll be interesting to see whether they keep Will Levis or decide to trade him and give him a better opportunity to start games elsewhere. It was surprising to see Browns co-owner Jimmy Haslam recently come out and admit the Deshaun Watson trade was a “big swing and miss.” That might be a consensus view at this point, but... Happy Draft Day, everybody. This is my first and only mock for this cycle, and it's coming just hours before the Titans are officially on the clock. Hey, better late than never. Mocks this time of year are tricky because while it's true that we're as close to a consensus on the first rounders as we're going to get, keeping up with the rumor mill this...
And much of what's being peddled out there is a smoke screen anyway. If you're looking for more draft content, make sure you check out Mario Puig's three-round mock and Joe Bartel's mock draft and NFL draft props. Same deal. This feels like a lock, even if the idea of an Abdul Carter-Myles Garrett tandem is fun to dream on. The Giants might want to move back, but with no quarterbacks worth taking at 3, it's hard to envision them finding a dance partner willing to pay full freight. They'll just have to settle for the best EDGE in the class and the best player available.
Ho hum. Daniel Flick’s predictions: Mock draft 1.0 | Mock draft 2.0 | Mock draft 3.0 | Mock draft 4.0 | Mock draft 5.0 | Mock Draft 6.0 The NFL scouting combine has kicked off in Indianapolis and pro days will be coming in the weeks to follow. Teams also have free agency in March and that will further influence the draft board. But for now, this is how our network of On SI publishers and reporters see the first round playing out. Unlike last year when we had a run on quarterbacks in the top half of the draft, this year will be heavy on the offensive and defensive lines, running backs and tight ends.
When all the dust settles, and the Titans explore all options, selecting a franchise quarterback will always reign supreme. Sanders has been the top quarterback in this class since Day 1. That won’t change on April 24. —Noah Strackbein The Browns don’t appear likely to entertain trades for Myles Garrett. While Cleveland could certainly consider Miami QB Cam Ward here, the better selection would be to draft a dominant interior defensive lineman and immediately give Garrett help by making teams think twice about double-teaming...
They can address QB later in the draft. —Brendan Gulick Through the wild card round of the playoffs, the top 24 picks in the 2025 NFL draft are locked in. The Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns and New York Giants still hold the top three picks, and the losers of the wild card round games have slotted into the Nos. 19 through 24 picks in April's draft. Those top three teams could take advantage of the opportunity to make a change at quarterback, while some tough decisions lie on the road ahead for those six playoff teams that failed to advance.
Here are what draft experts from USA TODAY Sports, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, The Sporting News and CBS Sports are predicting for the first-round picks in the 2025 NFL draft: Order is current after the wild card round. The degree of difficulty for mock drafts is high this year. I feel like Rodney Dangerfield trying to pull off the Triple Lindy dive in “Back to School.” Why is mocking this year’s NFL Draft so tough? 1.
The pecking order is ambiguous at several positions. Abdul Carter is sure to be the first edge rusher off the board, but it’s tricky to figure out how the edge guys fall after that. It’s hard to tell how the offensive linemen will fall after the first two or three. It’s not entirely clear who’ll be the first cornerback, safety, or wide receiver not named Travis Hunter to come off the board. 2. Team needs aren’t sharply defined in many cases.
The Dolphins have urgent needs in the secondary and along the offensive line. Which need do they address first? The Packers could use WR, CB, DT and EDGE help. The Broncos have needs at all of the so-called skill positions except for quarterback. There are only a few teams we can pretty safely peg for a specific position in the first round. 3.
Aside from the Titans taking Cam Ward No. 1 overall, the teams that select QBs in the first round will likely trade into those selections. The Browns and Giants aren’t taking quarterbacks at No. 2 and No. 3, but those teams could trade into late-round spots to grab young QBs. The Saints and Steelers might wheel and deal to take quarterbacks in draft spots other than their own.
The 2025 NFL draft is finally upon us, taking place this year at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin – Titletown – home of the Green Bay Packers, the league’s all-time winningest franchise. It's also the first time the "Cheese State" has hosted the league's marquee offseason event in the common draft era (since 1967) and first overall since Milwaukee staged it in … 1940. The league's 90th annual "Player Selection Meeting" didn't feature much mystery with its No. 1 pick, but things got awfully interesting immediately afterward in what was a highly intriguing first round. USA TODAY Sports analyzed each pick, one through 32, as it was made Thursday night: A franchise that’s never drafted a quarterback with the No.
1 overall pick (and nobody at the very top since Hall of Famer Earl Campbell in 1978) clearly hopes to have its new face – and, at minimum, its first star behind center since... Ward (6-2, 219), who played for three collegiate programs in five years, turns 23 next month – but his experience and, more importantly perhaps, leadership should greatly benefit a Titans team in need of... Ward isn’t a dynamic runner but is certainly a capable athlete who often makes plays with his arms and legs outside of the pocket. But the 2024 All-American and ACC Player of the Year is being selected here because of an alpha personality and a dynamic arm, one that produced a Division 1 record 158 TD passes. He’ll need to leverage all of his estimable abilities on and off the field to turn around a franchise that needs him to stop its free fall. Interesting to note, too, that Ward’s 2,329 passes attempted in college are at least 1,000 more than highly erratic Will Levis, Tennessee’s primary starter the past two seasons, has thrown since he entered college...
