2025 nfl mock draft reid s predictions on first round picks

With the 2024 NFL Draft in the past after last weekend, ESPN’s Jordan Reid has turned his attention to 2025’s iteration, with his latest mock draft. There’s no sure-fire top selection like there was this past season with Caleb Williams, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t immense talent throughout. Of course, many prospects will begin to separate themselves throughout the upcoming college football season, but this is based off where we stand at the moment. There’s a litany of teams that need quarterbacks, and it’s going to be a class that takes some time to develop. Still, Reid has one going first overall. Check out his full mock draft for 2025 below.

There’s our first quarterback of the draft and it’s quite hard to tell how this class will pan out. The 2024 class had a lot of buzz, but Beck headlines this one, and he goes to the New York Giants after a trade for the first overall pick, as they look for a... Once he stepped in as the starter, Beck was solid. If he wins a national title this coming season, he’ll certainly boost his stock. He threw for nearly 4,000 yards last season with 24 touchdowns. He can get better.

Happy Draft Day, everybody. This is my first and only mock for this cycle, and it's coming just hours before the Titans are officially on the clock. Hey, better late than never. Mocks this time of year are tricky because while it's true that we're as close to a consensus on the first rounders as we're going to get, keeping up with the rumor mill this... And much of what's being peddled out there is a smoke screen anyway. If you're looking for more draft content, make sure you check out Mario Puig's three-round mock and Joe Bartel's mock draft and NFL draft props.

Same deal. This feels like a lock, even if the idea of an Abdul Carter-Myles Garrett tandem is fun to dream on. The Giants might want to move back, but with no quarterbacks worth taking at 3, it's hard to envision them finding a dance partner willing to pay full freight. They'll just have to settle for the best EDGE in the class and the best player available. Ho hum. Man vs.

Machine. A societal battle with a 2025 NFL Draft twist. Welcome to the inaugural "Expert vs. Artificial Intelligence" mock draft in USA TODAY – and perhaps world – history. My opponent this year, Microsoft Copilot, put together a valiant effort. As the selections roll in Thursday night from Green Bay, Wisconsin during the first round, I’ll vigorously be comparing the results in hopes of emerging victorious.

For the purposes of this exercise, my colleague Jacob Camenker supplied the AI bot with parameters and provided his explanation-slash-translation of the picks. I offered a "modified" first-round mock that, to be honest, feels anything but "expert." I also commented on Copilot’s selection. To keep things simple, trades were not permitted. Thus, I had just one quarterback going in the first round. My apologies to Shedeur Sanders, who will almost certainly hear his name called Thursday but won’t appear below. So far, so good for Copilot, as Ward is expected to be the No.

1 overall pick. The chatbot highlighted his "arm talent and mobility" as reasons the Titans would be interested in making him their "quarterback of the future." – Jacob Camenker The 2024 college football season is roughly at midseason, and we're now through six weeks of the NFL campaign. So, let's look ahead to the 2025 NFL draft and make some early first-round predictions with a full updated mock draft of the opening 32 picks. A lot will change before April 24, when the draft rolls into Green Bay, Wisconsin. For one, we still have plenty of football ahead of us.

Some players will return to school; some will surprisingly declare early. Predraft events will shake up boards. And the NFL offseason will alter every team's actual needs. So, take this mock draft for exactly what it is: an early projection. Our draft order is based on the current standings and is reflective of how all 32 teams would slot if the season ended today. And since no first-round picks have been traded yet, every team is set to enter the draft with its own Day 1 selection.

But we like trades in mock drafts, so I crafted three of my own here, including one in the top five. Here are my projections for all 32 first-round picks in 2025, starting with an interesting fit for an underperforming AFC team. (Note: Underclassmen are noted with an asterisk.)
