Every year, we try to do our best to predict 32 NFL Draft selections (or more) while knowing that once this untamed beast is set free and teams are on the clock, all bets... Well, here’s my first jaunt into the NFL Mock Draft streets (with more to come) with my 2025 NFL Mock Draft 1.0. With this exercise, I’m trying to be predictive while keeping what I would necessarily do with every pick out of the equation.

There are no trades in this 2025 NFL Mock Draft, but I’ll likely be adding some trades to future versions. Ok, that’s enough build-up. Let’s discuss the first round of the NFL Draft and what could happen. But how well can it predict something like the results of the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft? USA TODAY Sports tested the mettle of four different AI chatbots – Microsoft Copilot, Meta AI, Grok and ChatGPT – by tasking each with making a mock draft prediction for Round 1 of this... Human writers were on hand for each chatbot's attempt to ensure that each pick was a plausible one – attempts to select a non-draft eligible player or a player drafted in previous years were... Each pick also featured some justification from the AI, and our writers picked apart the chatbots' analysis in each story. Here's how the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft could go, according to four of the most popular AI programs in 2025: All the NFL news on and off the field.

Our 2025 NFL Mock Draft with expert two-round predictions, top prospects, and team selections for the upcoming draft: Cam Ward, Abdul Carter, Travis Hunter, and more. We are officially in NFL Draft season with the Senior Bowl and Super Bowl out of the way. Before we jump into this mock, one thing worth noting is that these predictions are not what I would do. These picks won't always follow my prospect rankings, either. If you want to see how I stack up the players in this class, head over to my initial Top 50 Prospects list.

However, if you want to see how I think other teams will select or value players, you can read on. The other thing worth noting before we begin is this: a lot will change after free agency. Today, we are guessing on a variety of factors, including where free agents land or leave and what the medical reports will look like. Because we are not soothsayers, free agency could make our mocks in March or April look drastically different than this. We start things off with a trade right off the bat. Probabilistic forecasts are a critical piece of the NFL draft game.

Instead of filling out mock drafts, NFL teams opt to build models that help them predict how the draft could unfold. After draft week is over, some teams will even reveal the internal probabilities they had for players to fall to certain spots and how that influenced their decision-making. At ESPN, we do the same exercise. To create our Draft Day Predictor, ESPN Analytics uses expert mock drafts, Scouts Inc. grades and team needs to predict future homes for the top prospects. The accuracy of those factors in past seasons informs the model's outputs for the upcoming draft.

Our model is updated throughout the predraft process and even live during the draft, which kicks off Thursday at 8 p.m. (ESPN/ABC/ESPN+). Using the latest outputs from the Draft Day Predictor, let's try to answer some of the draft's burning questions ... probabilistically. Where are Shedeur Sanders and Ashton Jeanty most likely to land? How might the quarterbacks and wide receivers come off the board, and which sleepers have the best shot at sneaking into Round 1?

Check out the Draft Day Predictor Use our mock draft simulator With Miami's Cam Ward the favorite to go No. 1, Sanders presents a very interesting forecast in our model as the second-best quarterback in the class. The predictor has cooled on the idea of the Colorado QB at Nos. 2 or 3 (currently the Browns and Giants, respectively), but those options are still possible; there is a 4% chance he'll go No. 2 and a 7% chance he'll go No.

3. Of course, the Browns and Giants need long-term quarterbacks, but the Draft Day Predictor also includes the possibility of a team trading up for Sanders in one of those two spots. After I finish up “The Beast,” my attention shifts to a complete seven-round mock draft. It’s a time-exhaustive task, but I also see it as a helpful thought exercise to focus on team needs, draft trends and fits for all 32 organizations. Scroll to the bottom for team-by-team draft hauls to better see how each team did in this scenario. (Editor’s note: An asterisk designates a compensatory draft pick.)

It became clear at the combine that Ward would be the No. 1 pick. The only question: Would the Titans trade out or stick and pick themselves? Over the last month, it’s become apparent that Tennessee plans to stay in the top spot and hand Ward the keys to its franchise. The Browns are desperate to get the quarterback position right, although I don’t expect them to force the pick. With the best player in the draft still available, it makes sense that the choice here would be Hunter, who could provide a spark on offense (and defense).

The 2025 NFL Draft kicks off outside Lambeau Field with the first round of the draft Thursday night in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Former Miami quarterback Cam Ward went first overall to the Tennessee Titans, while reigning Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter went second to the Jacksonville Jaguars after a draft-night trade with the Cleveland Browns. A handful of former OU and OSU football stars will likely have to wait a while to hear their names until Friday or Saturday. Andrew Erickson is a fantasy football analyst at FantasyPros. LFG. Happy Draft Day, everybody. This is my first and only mock for this cycle, and it's coming just hours before the Titans are officially on the clock.

Hey, better late than never. Mocks this time of year are tricky because while it's true that we're as close to a consensus on the first rounders as we're going to get, keeping up with the rumor mill this... And much of what's being peddled out there is a smoke screen anyway. If you're looking for more draft content, make sure you check out Mario Puig's three-round mock and Joe Bartel's mock draft and NFL draft props. Same deal. This feels like a lock, even if the idea of an Abdul Carter-Myles Garrett tandem is fun to dream on.

The Giants might want to move back, but with no quarterbacks worth taking at 3, it's hard to envision them finding a dance partner willing to pay full freight. They'll just have to settle for the best EDGE in the class and the best player available. Ho hum. Daniel Flick’s predictions: Mock draft 1.0 | Mock draft 2.0 | Mock draft 3.0 | Mock draft 4.0 | Mock draft 5.0 | Mock draft 6.0 | On SI Mock draft 1.0 We’re through the NFL scouting combine, and free agency isn’t over yet, save for a few big-name quarterbacks and older receivers. Pro days are also taking place, so it’s a good time to revisit the mock draft board and see where things stand regarding team needs.

This is how our network of On SI publishers and reporters see the first round playing out. Unlike last year, when we had a run on quarterbacks in the top half of the draft, this year will be heavy on the offensive and defensive lines, running backs and tight ends. Still, there are a few quarterbacks sprinkled in throughout the first round, so let’s dive in. The Titans have indicated that they’re going after a quarterback in the NFL draft.
