Browns 2025 7 Round Nfl Mock Draft Cleveland Lands A Freakish Talent
Despite some recent success, the Cleveland Browns find themselves on the verge of yet another rebuild. Unfortunately, the offseason hasn’t introduced many notable additions to Cleveland. They’ve signed some offensive line and front-seven depth, but the transaction that made the most headlines was the team’s trade for backup quarterback Kenny Pickett. That’s not ideal for a franchise in desperate need of a facelift. Luckily, the Browns have the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.
If this roster is ever going to get an infusion of big-time talent, now is the time, and PFSN’s latest seven-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft from Brentley Weissman gives the Browns a new look. Most fans would probably suggest that the Browns’ biggest need is at quarterback, though the latest PFSN mock draft doesn’t peg them an improvement at the position. With Cam Ward off the board after the No. 1 overall pick, Cleveland is instead expected to take the best defender in the class. “The Cleveland Browns called Myles Garrett’s bluff and secured a long-term contract with their star pass rusher. This gives the Browns some flexibility with the No.
2 overall pick. While a quarterback may be tempting, pairing Garrett with Abdul Carter is too tempting to pass up,” Weissman said. CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The first round of the NFL Draft is finally less than a month away and the countdown is on to finally figure out who the Browns will take at No. 2 overall. It also means mock draft season is close to ending, so it’s time to squeeze these things in. I did one post-Combine and now, a few weeks later, it’s time to update things.
I’m using MockDraftDatabase.com for today’s mock and I’m not cheating the system. If I miss a player, I miss him and there’s no going back. Remember the rule: If you think it’s crazy a player is available where I took him, blame the simulator. I have concerns about Sanders and would prefer Cam Ward, but it seems like the Titans are gearing up to take Ward at No. 1. If Ward falls to No.
2, it’s a no-doubt pick. The draft is really the Browns’ best hope of righting the ship. “We took a big swing and miss with Deshaun. We thought we had the quarterback, we didn’t, and we gave up a lot of draft picks to get him. So we’ve got to dig ourselves out of that hole. [The trade] was an entire organization decision… so hold us accountable.”
Congratulations to Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam, who finally publicly acknowledged at the recent NFL owners meetings what everybody else already knew – the Deshaun Watson trade/signing was one of the worst transactions in... We don’t need to get heavy into all the issues both on and off the field here – our friends here at Dawgs By Nature have you more than covered from soup to nuts,... So, with Watson on the roster in the near term as the ultimate salary cap albatross, how do the Browns get past it? They did so quite admirably in 2023, with an 11-6 regular-season record before running out of gas against the Houston Texans in the Wild Card round. The 2024 season was obviously more problematic. Watson regressed from below-average to absolutely putrid when he was on the field, and Good Joe Flacco wasn’t walking through that door.
Instead, we got the Jameis Winston Wild West Variety Show. Perhaps even more distressing (and certainly more surprising) was that the defense fell apart. A Jim Schwartz-led unit that finished second in Defensive DVOA in 2023 went splat all the way down to 25th last season. Complications with Deshaun Watson’s recovery from an Achilles injury have seemingly opened the door for the Cleveland Browns to consider selecting a quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, that’s just one of several key concerns for Cleveland, as holes remain on both sides of the ball.
With limited flexibility in free agency, the Browns will likely rely on their draft capital to address multiple needs, including offensive tackle, cornerback and wide receiver. Ward has all the physical tools to succeed as an NFL quarterback and thrives on deep throws. His 29 big-time throws on passes of 20-plus yards in 2024 ranked second in the nation, as did his 131.5 NFL passer rating on those attempts. While not a first-round-caliber athlete, Amos has the size and physicality to thrive at the next level as a man coverage corner. His ball production was elite in 2024, as he tallied three interceptions and an impressive 15 forced incompletions for Ole Miss. Neal is a versatile back who excels as both a runner and receiver.
Over the past two seasons at Kansas, he forced a combined 127 missed tackles on runs and receptions.
