The University of Washington Continuum College, formerly the University of Washington Educational Outreach, is the continuing education and professional development unit of the University of Washington in Seattle. The UW Continuum College offices are located in the University District, Seattle in the UW Tower (which was purchased from Safeco in 2006). Programs are run at the main UW campus and at various locations through UW Professional & Continuing Education.

The UW Continuum College is directed by Vice Provost Rovy Branon.[1] Branon oversees a staff of approximately 250 people engaged in the development and administration of the UW's various programs. The UW Continuum College provides wide-ranging programs for non-traditional and lifelong learning students such as degree programs, certificate programs, and non-degree enrollment.[2] The programs are fee-based and do not receive any state funds for support. The University offers both state-supported and fee-based degree programs. Students who are enrolled in most fee-based programs will use a different process to register for classes and pay for their courses than students in state-supported programs. Most fee-based programs are offered through the UW’s Continuum College.

Some units administer their own fee-based programs and rates are maintained on program websites. Information regarding fee-based programs, including available financial aid, can be found on the Office of Student Financial Aid website. The Office of the University Registrar maintains a Fee-based programs FAQ. Fee-based program rates are established and changed through an annual process. In accordance with E.O. 44, the Provost approves fee-based program rates.

Beginning in FY25, fee-based tuition programs administered by the UW Continuum College and independent units are reviewed and developed during the University’s Annual Review process. All program rates are displayed in one document and are organized by unit. Previous fee-based rates prior to FY25 are available below. In their own classroom with their own teachers that are trained and mentored by UW faculty, high school students can take University of Washington courses and earn UW credit. International learners can choose from a wide variety of online and in-person programs designed to improve communication skills, prepare for further study in the United States, and explore American culture, business and other subjects. Summer Sessions at the University of Washington has something for everyone. Current and incoming UW students, those visiting from other U.S. colleges, high school students, international students, working professionals and other learners are all invited to join us, get the education you need and make the most of your summer. United by a passion for learning and the belief that everyone deserves education to thrive in an ever-changing world, we are a collaborative team of thinkers, innovators, doers, creators and problem solvers. Rovy Branon leads UW Continuum College, an institution serving over 50,000 learners annually through 400 programs spanning youth to senior offerings. He is co-editor of the upcoming Oxford University Press book: The Governance of Adult and Continuing Education at Research Universities. Branon holds a M.Ed. in Instructional Systems Technology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Ph.D. in Instructional Systems Technology with a minor in Human-computer Interaction from Indiana University.

Sandra Janusch leads development administration for Continuum programs, serving thousands of learners each year. She drives access, quality and growth, while launching new offerings to meet evolving community and student needs. Her portfolio spans professional, K–12, adult and international programs. Janusch holds a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Calgary, an M.Ed. from Holy Names University, and a B.A.

in Theater Arts from UCLA. Bryan Blakeley manages online learning and UW campus partnerships at Continuum, including Summer Sessions and digital badging. He holds a Ph.D. in higher education administration from Boston College, where his dissertation focused on organization change in the context of online education initiatives. Jennifer Buck oversees budget, finance, HR, payroll, facilities, contracts, and registration at Continuum. She aligns operations to support strategic goals and evolving student and staff needs.

At Continuum since 2010, she previously led HR at Pharmacy OneSource and held roles at Butler University, Indiana University, and the University of Texas. Buck holds an M.B.A. from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and a bachelor’s degree from Butler University. The registration office for UW Professional & Continuing Education and UW Continuum College is located in the UW Tower, two blocks west of the UW Seattle campus. Pay parking is available on the street. Many bus routes and a light-rail station serve the area.

Call us at 206-543-2310 when you get to the building and we'll escort you to our office. After-Hours Drop-Box: You may drop your registration materials in the drop-box located next to the revolving doors on the north side of the building.
