Project 2025 is rooted in injecting narrower interpretations of gender, sexuality and race in federal policy.
It calls for ending nearly all of the U.S. government's efforts to achieve equity, including the collection of data that could be used to track such outcomes across the public and private sectors. WASHINGTON, DC — The Trump administration managed to initiate or fulfill more than 47 percent of the Project 2025 domestic regulatory agenda before the current government shutdown, according to the latest data from the... This represents a substantial increase in the administration’s progress since April, when an analysis of the data from the organizations’ Project 2025 Tracker found that 28 percent of the agency actions had been completed.
In all, 251 of the 532 recommended actions identified in the tracker have been completed. That equates to a progress rate of almost 1 action per day since the inauguration (253 days between January 20 and September 30). Launched in February, the tracker systematically monitors the administration’s implementation of Project 2025’s domestic policy proposals spread across 20 agencies within the executive branch. In the months since, regulatory experts with the Center and GFI have reviewed and analyzed hundreds of executive orders, press releases, regulations, and sub-regulatory actions to determine the extent to which Trump administration actions... “The start of the new fiscal year on October 1 would have offered a natural point for taking stock of the administration’s progress on implementing Project 2025 in any event. The fact that it also marked the beginning of a major government shutdown that the administration itself has identified with Project 2025 only underscores the influence that this dangerous policy playbook is having,” said...

Find this story in your account’s ‘Saved for Later’ section. Remember Project 2025, the deeply unpopular far-right governing plan that Donald Trump spent the entire 2024 election pretending to know nothing about? Well, the president is bear-hugging it: On October 2, as the government shutdown entered its second day, Trump posted on Truth Social that he would be meeting with Office of Management and Budget director... I have no idea who is behind it” — even though the playbook was written by more than 140 alumni of his first administration. In any case, Trump and his allies repeatedly cast people’s concerns around the plan’s authoritarian streak as hysterical.
The media and serious political operators bought into his supposed “disavowal” of the playbook, too. That public-relations spin was clearly b.s. Many of Project 2025’s authors are now members of the current administration — including Vought, FCC chair Brendan Carr, White House border czar Tom Homan, and CIA director John Ratcliffe. And in just nine months, Trump has already accomplished 48 percent of the policies outlined in the playbook, according to an analysis by the Project 2025 Tracker. You read that right! Trump is nearly halfway through establishing the governing plan that experts warned “would destroy the 250-year-old system of checks and balances upon which U.S.
democracy has relied.” To break down just how far Project 2025 has come and what people can still do to stop it, I spoke with Michael Sozan, a senior fellow at the Center for... Here’s what they said. The 900-page behemoth, titled Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise, outlined policy proposals for major federal agencies. Its authors said Project 2025 would be a road map for the next conservative administration. But Sozan says that, in reality, “It is almost an authoritarian guidebook for a president to be able to exercise almost complete control over the government.” He adds, “It gives the president and his... As of October 9, the Trump administration has already completed 119 of Project 2025’s 318 stated objectives, according to the data analysis conducted by Cobb and the tracker’s co-creators.
Cobb says that 66 of the plan’s other goals are currently in progress. They fall into two categories: objectives where there has been some action, such as a draft proposal, that has yet to be implemented, as well as policies that have been blocked by the courts. This means that about 48 percent of Project 2025 has been completed. The swath of executive orders and memoranda he’s implemented align with some 115 of the right-wing blueprint’s 317 goals, an online tracker finds From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Nearly half of the initiatives laid out in Project 2025 — which is considered by many to be a blueprint for the second Trump administration — have already been implemented by the president, a...
An online tracker that measures the extent to which Project 2025 has been implemented by the government has hit a 50 per cent milestone. According to a website created by two Reddit users, titled Project 2025 Tracker, the White House has implemented 50 per cent of the policies outlined in the conservative document. The website does not provide the methodology it uses to track Project 2025. Project 2025 is a 900-page document of policy proposals spearheaded by the Heritage Foundation think tank. It advocates limited government, border security and tough immigration laws, among other conservative measures. Newsweek reached out to the White House and the Heritage Foundation by email to comment on this story outside of normal business hours.
The extent to which Trump is influenced by Project 2025 has been a source of debate during the president's second term. New resource will track hundreds of Project 2025 proposals, provide reporters and civil society groups data on the administration’s executive action agenda WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Governing for Impact (GFI) and the Center for Progressive Reform launched their joint Project 2025 Tracker to monitor the incoming Trump administration’s unilateral efforts to make the new infamous policy... The tracker — which breaks out the domestic executive action proposals included in the 900-page blueprint — will be updated by GFI’s and the Center’s teams of regulatory lawyers as the Trump administration takes... Developed by the Heritage Foundation, Project 2025 provides a roadmap for the incoming administration to consolidate power in the presidency so that it can force through an ultra-right-wing agenda. The playbook proposes sweeping changes across 30 federal agencies that will have devastating consequences on workers, the environment, public health, and the rights of millions of Americans.
“Despite wide media coverage of Project 2025, no centralized resource has been created to easily and comprehensively track its implementation, ” said Rachael Klarman, Executive Director of GFI. “GFI and CPR created the Project 2025 Tracker to close this gap, offering a vital resource for policymakers, legal experts, and advocates to monitor and respond to Trump administration actions. ” “As a candidate, Trump made his repeated disavowals of Project 2025 a key part of his pitch to Americans to vote for him. That’s why the Center is committed to holding his administration accountable by closely tracking whether it lives up to this promise over the next four years,” said James Goodwin, Policy Director at the Center...
