A new community-based resource, the Project 2025 Tracker is closely following the Trump administration’s work to accomplish the 312 objectives of Project 2025. As of Monday, April 28: Many of these policies, enacted by executive order, are being challenged in court as exceeding the authority of the president.

The tracker can be searched by agency, subject and completion status, and includes notes on how objectives have been achieved. In Trump’s first 100 days in office, he has enacted over one-quarter of Project 2025 policy recommendations eroding reproductive health and rights and is working on another 17 percent of these objectives. A slew of actions taken by President Trump during his first month in office bear the fingerprints of Project 2025, the right-wing blueprint for overhauling the federal government. During his campaign, Mr. Trump distanced himself from the plan, saying it was largely unfamiliar to him. But The New York Times found more than 60 major moves that Mr. Trump and his administration have made in his first 23 days, including executive orders and agency memos, that align with proposals in the blueprint. An online tracker that measures the extent to which Project 2025 has been implemented by the government has hit a 50 per cent milestone.

According to a website created by two Reddit users, titled Project 2025 Tracker, the White House has implemented 50 per cent of the policies outlined in the conservative document. The website does not provide the methodology it uses to track Project 2025. Project 2025 is a 900-page document of policy proposals spearheaded by the Heritage Foundation think tank. It advocates limited government, border security and tough immigration laws, among other conservative measures. Newsweek reached out to the White House and the Heritage Foundation by email to comment on this story outside of normal business hours. The extent to which Trump is influenced by Project 2025 has been a source of debate during the president's second term.

The Center for Progressive Reform and Governing for Impact are monitoring the Trump administration’s implementation of Project 2025, tracking the authoritarian blueprint’s executive action proposals across 20 federal agencies. The Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 is the conservative movement’s blueprint for weakening our government and building an authoritarian presidency. To monitor the Trump administration’s regulatory and other administrative actions toward that goal, and in partnership with Governing for Impact, we’re tracking Project 2025’s executive action proposals across 20 federal agencies. These actions will have devastating consequences for workers, the environment, public health, and the rights of millions of Americans.

To start, we have compiled a list of all the executive branch policies proposed in Project 2025 (with a focus on domestic policy), available here. Over the next four years, we’ll continue tracking how the Trump administration is implementing Project 2025 on a periodic basis and update the resource accordingly. More immediately, we’ll be tracking Project 2025’s rollbacks of key environmental, climate, and public safety policies in closer to real-time, available in the embedded tracker below.
