No Kings Protests Take Place Across Western Wa Saturday

Organizers for a second "No Kings" protest say they are expecting thousands to participate in what they describe as a peaceful event at the state Capitol in Olympia. There are several rallies planned throughout the Puget Sound area, as well as across the nation this weekend, following up on the first protest earlier this year. Millions of protesters are expected to join the second round of "No Kings" demonstrations across the U.S. on Saturday, Oct. 18. The demonstrations are aimed at policies from President Donald Trump's administration, ranging from immigration and the environment to health care and education. "They are targeting immigrant families, profiling, arresting, and detaining people without warrants. Threatening to overtake elections. Protesters turn out in Eastern Washington In Kennewick, Washington, people lined both sides of Columbia Center Boulevard for over half a mile throughout the morning and into the afternoon. The busy boulevard is a main thoroughfare through Tri-Cities.
Kennewick is in Benton County, where nearly 60% of residents voted for Donald Trump in the last presidential election. Protester Hayley Van Winkle said she showed up to the protest because she fears for democracy under the Trump administration.
