The event is part of National No Kings Day of Peaceful Action, which includes about 2,650 demonstrations across the U.S. New Orleans is one of 10 "anchor cities" selected by the National Indivisible Project. NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - More than 10,000 New Orleans residents are expected to take part in the NO KINGS 2.0 Rally on Saturday, Oct. 18 to oppose what organizers call increasing authoritarianism and corruption within the Trump administration.

The event is part of the National No Kings Day of Peaceful Action, which includes more than 2,650 demonstrations across the country. Louisiana will host rallies in 10 locations — New Orleans, Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Hammond, Leesville, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Monroe, Ruston and Shreveport. New Orleans is one of 10 “anchor cities” selected by the National Indivisible Project, which is providing event and security guidance for local organizers. Organizers say the rally could become the largest single-day nonviolent demonstration in U.S. history, building on the first NO KINGS mobilization in June that drew about 6,500 participants in New Orleans and more than 5 million nationwide.
