There were 257 names called in the 2025 NFL draft. Some front offices did better than others with their selections -- I really like the Eagles' class -- but how did the individual picks stack up across all seven rounds? I ranked the best 100 selections. This list isn't based purely on talent -- that's why we had predraft prospect rankings. Here, we factored in value (where a player was drafted vs. where he was ranked predraft), scheme fit, how the selection addressed a need, what the prospect brings on the field and whether additional assets were gained or lost in draft-day trades to acquire him.

Every round is represented, and there are even 38 picks from Day 3 among these 100 highlighted selections. Which picks crack the top 10? What moves from Rounds 4-7 make the list? And which teams dominated with multiple highly ranked additions? Let's stack the best 100 picks of the 2025 draft, starting with one of my favorite players throughout this process. Sanders was selected in Round 5 by the Cleveland Browns at No. 144.

The first round kicked off Thursday night with some immediate fireworks when the Jacksonville Jaguars traded up to No. 2 overall to select two-way player Travis Hunter. There are 257 picks this year, with the Tennessee Titans owning the No. 1 selection and the Kansas City Chiefs selecting No. 257. Compensatory picks were announced on March 11; the Baltimore Ravens and Dallas Cowboys lead the way with four additional selections. In all, there are 35 comp picks in this draft. The 2025 NFL draft will take place in Green Bay, Wisconsin, for the first time.

Round 1 will begin on April 24, Rounds 2 and 3 will be on April 25 and Rounds 4 through 7 will play out on April 26. For instance, after five quarterbacks were drafted among the top 12 picks last year, this class is expected to take a step back. ESPN's Scouts Inc. has only four quarterbacks ranked in the top 50. When was the last time a QB class looked like this? Meanwhile, the running back group is expected to have a revival after only one was selected through the first two rounds last year. The 2025 group -- led by Scouts Inc.'s No.

5 player and Heisman Trophy finalist Ashton Jeanty -- has 11 RBs ranked in the top 100. When was the last time we saw a running back class this deep? One way to illustrate the strengths or weaknesses of a draft's top position groups is by comparing them to past classes. I gave a historical comp for five position groups -- quarterback, wide receiver, running back, defensive tackle and edge rusher -- based on the tape, combine and early evaluations. A reminder: Comps aren't always exact and don't necessarily suggest the class or prospect will share the same level of success (for better or worse). The first draft I covered was in 2002, so this exercise is a bit of a walk down memory lane.

And multiple positions in this year's class are virtually exact reminders of groups from previous years. Let's start with the QB group, which takes us back nearly a decade. The order for the 2025 NFL draft is set, with the Tennessee Titans landing at No. 1. The Philadelphia Eagles will pick No. 32 after defeating the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.
