new york jets 7 round nfl mock draft april

The New York Jets didn’t make much of a splash in free agency outside of signing Justin Fields, and even that didn’t make many waves around the NFL. Most of the signings in Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey’s first free agency class were in the bargain bin — only three of their free-agent signings (Fields, cornerback Brandon Stephens and safety Andre Cisco)... It leaves the Jets with most of the same roster holes they had when the offseason started. When the offseason began the Jets were most likely to draft an offensive tackle, tight end, wide receiver, or defensive lineman, and that remains the case. So which direction will they go in? Here’s our second iteration of a Jets seven-round mock draft, using Pro Football Focus’ mock draft simulator as a basis for which prospects might be available at each selection:

I’m still not entirely convinced Membou will actually make it to No. 7, but if he does he feels like the right choice since the Jets haven’t seriously addressed the right tackle position this offseason and only two of the current projected offensive line starters (Joe... There are varying opinions on the viability of taking tight end Tyler Warren or wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan at this spot but both should be considered possibilities — same goes for linebacker Jalon Walker... Of that group of prospects, though, Membou feels like the best long-term play because of his ceiling, which is significant because of his athleticism. He’s not huge for a tackle (6-4, 332) and could wind up moving to guard at some point in his career, but he’d slot in right away as the Jets’ right tackle and all... Membou didn’t allow any sacks or QB hits in 411 pass-blocking snaps last season, and graded out well as a run blocker too.

With a veteran-laden roster and championship aspirations, the Jets focus on bolstering the trenches, adding playmakers for Justin Fields, and securing developmental talent for the post-Rodgers era. This class blends immediate impact with long-term upside. Round 1, Pick 7 – Armand Membou, OT, Missouri: Membou is a plug-and-play offensive tackle with elite movement skills, power in the run game, and a technically-sound pass set. He brings stability to the Jets’ offensive line and can grow into a franchise tackle to protect whoever is under center for years to come. Round 2, Pick 42 – Elic Ayomanor, WR, Stanford: A big-bodied target with a smooth release and reliable hands, Ayomanor gives the Jets a physical boundary receiver who can win contested catches and stretch... He’s a perfect complement to Garrett Wilson and an instant weapon in the red zone.

Round 3, Pick 73 – Alfred Collins, DI, Texas: Collins brings elite length, athleticism, and versatility to a Jets defensive front that thrives on disruption. He’s still refining his technique, but his traits scream difference-maker, especially in a rotational role as he develops. Round 4, Pick 110 – Sai’vion Jones, EDGE, LSU: Jones is a twitchy edge rusher with explosive first-step quickness and a relentless motor. He adds more juice to a deep pass-rush group and fits perfectly into Robert Saleh’s aggressive front. The Jets currently hold 8 picks in the 2025 draft including the No. 7 overall selection.

With the NFL trade deadline behind us, attention now turns to the draft and team rebuilding strategies. The New York Jets, having made multiple significant trades, are positioned with several picks throughout the 2026 NFL Draft. Their focus appears to be on reconstructing the roster, starting with a new quarterback and bolstering both offensive and defensive lines, as well as adding depth in the secondary and skill positions. The Jets are clearly in a reset mode at quarterback. Despite having a mobile quarterback with a strong arm like Justin Fields, the team has yet to see consistent results. There’s speculation about potential offseason moves, including whether they look to trade (maybe for a player like Kyler Murray)?

The ideal quarterback for the Jets combines mobility with quick decision-making, accuracy, timing, and the intangibles necessary to lead a franchise. At the third overall pick, selecting a franchise quarterback is critical, although they may face competition from teams like New Orleans, who also seek a quarterback. This mock draft strategy reveals a clear blueprint: secure a franchise quarterback, build a strong offensive line, and reinforce the defense with versatile and physical players. This approach aligns with the leadership vision of Aaron Glenn and reflects the team’s commitment to a proper rebuild. As the draft approaches and more tape is reviewed, this strategy may evolve, but the foundation laid here presents a strong case for the Jets’ future competitiveness.

The New York Jets are starting over. The Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas eras ending during last season, and this offseason the team hired former Detroit Lions defensive coordinator -- and Jets defensive back -- Aaron Glenn as their head coach... That new braintrust has a lot of work to do when it comes to building out the current roster. The Jets have needs up and down the board. You don't go 5-12 by accident.

Luckily, they have a couple of premium picks available to add high-end talent, and they have eight draft picks overall. That gives them plenty of opportunities to fill some of the holes remaining on the team. As for what direction they'll ultimately go, well, that's why we're here. Throughout this week, we're conducting seven-round mock drafts for notable teams around the league, and the Jets are one of those teams. In this case, we're going to run through a full seven-round mock draft using Pro Football Focus' mock draft simulator. There are a lot of different areas of the roster that we need to hit, so it's going to be quite an interesting exercise.

Without further ado... The 2025 NFL Draft is to take place from April 24-26 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. More draft coverage can be found at CBSSports.com, including the weekly mock drafts and a regularly available look at the eligible prospects. It’s a completely new era in New York Jets land — again — as they hired a new head coach in Aaron Glenn and said goodbye to the Aaron Rodgers-Davante Adams experiment. The Jets have eight picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, and despite acquiring Justin Fields as the new QB1 for $40 million over two years, they are predicted to select a QB of the... PFSN’s latest seven-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft from Brentley Weissman breaks down all eight of the Jets’ picks, which include a tight end, a defensive lineman, and a quarterback at the top of the...

After losing Tyler Conklin, the Jets need a new tight end, and in Weissman’s mock draft, they land the No. 1 prospect, Tyler Warren. “The New York Jets will be entering a rebuilding phase this season as they move forward with their new regime. While they certainly have needs to address, taking the best player available might be the smart move,” Weissman said. “Tyler Warren is a unique playmaking tight end who can do many different things. With Justin Fields now at quarterback, investing in a tight end who can be a pass-catching option but also has run-blocking chops makes sense.”

Warren could be exactly what the Jets need at tight end. He is one of the most versatile players in the 2025 NFL Draft and exploded in 2024 with 104 receptions, 1,233 yards, and eight touchdowns (26 total in his career, including a passing score). It’s April. That means it’s time to dive fully into the NFL draft. While draft season never truly ends, it really picks up steam now that free agency is mostly over and college teams have had their pro days. The Jets and other teams in the NFL are now beginning to incorporate the coaches into the draft process and the teams begin to really build their draft plan.

The Jets have holes to fill in this draft. It is hard to predict what to expect from new general manager Darren Mougey. He is not going to tip his hand and there is no drafting record to try to read and project his moves. We used Pro Football Network’s mock draft tool for our first mock draft of the season. We did not make any trades this time around. Here is what we came up with in our first mock:

After a 5-12 season, the New York Jets decided to make major changes. Aaron Glenn is now the head coach. Aaron Rodgers is out, and Justin Fields is in. The team that finished 24th in points per game (19.9) and 20th in points per game allowed (23.8) is looking to quickly turn around and make a playoff run. The Jets have eight picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. They will use those to address holes on both sides of the ball.

This mock draft will not have any trades. This is not about predicting what will happen, but advising what the team should do with each pick. The Jets finished 2024 ranked 29th in passing yards allowed (3,275) and 15th in rushing yards allowed (2,059). They need help inside and outside on the defensive line, and luck for them, Michigan elite defensive lineman Mason Graham falls to seventh overall in this mock. Graham is 6’3 and 320 pounds, and is a pure menace. He recorded a Pro Football Focus (PFF) grade of 91.1 last season (81.1 versus the run and 92.6 versus the pass).

He had five sacks and 20 hurries on 338 pass snaps in 2024. He would wreak havoc next to Quinnen Williams. Sticking with the defense, the Jets need help in their secondary. Sauce Gardner is elite, but he had a rough year in 2024, posting a PFF grade of 70.2 (47th among corners in the league). Brandon Stephens posted a below-average 55.8 (153rd in the NFL). With the 42nd overall pick, they get size and speed from Kentucky.
