New State Purchasing Training Required Wsu Insider Washington State
Comply with your own organization's purchasing policies and procedures. According to RCW 39.26.110, we are authorized to require training for people who are responsible for any portion of the procurement process. The director of DES, Contracts & Procurement division, and the statewide Training Advisory Group (TAG) identify who is required to take which courses based on job duties rather than job title. State employees can only get credit for taking this training in the Washington State Learning Center.

Since then, we have implemented many new policies around what people buy and from whom they buy goods and services in our role as the state’s procurement authority. Compliance with this training will be considered in your agency’s procurement risk assessment. We’ve shared this information with training managers to assign to small purchasers in their agencies. We are asking procurement professionals to share with their organizations to help us reach all small purchasers.
