Let’s see what one of the pre-eminent draft analysts does for the Giants Another day, another mock draft. Only, this one is a seven-round monster from Dane Brugler of The Athletic, author of ‘The Beast’ draft. Let’s get into how this falls for the New York Giants. Like Cleveland, the Giants are looking for the “right” quarterback — but with Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston on the roster, they also don’t need to force anything. Pass rusher might not be a screaming need, but you draft players not positions in the top three, and Carter is a true impact player.

Valentine’s View: Despite the quarterback hysteria caused by the private workouts for Shedeur Sanders, Jalen Milroe and Tyler Shough, this is the right thing to do in this spot. Sanders was taken No. 21 by the Pittsburgh Steelers in Brugler’s draft. The Cleveland Browns at No. 33 took Jaxson Dart. The Athletic's Dane Brugler releases 7-round mock draft

Ladies and gentlemen, we have entered the final stretch. In exactly one week, the 2025 NFL Draft begins in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Many draft analysts are beginning to release their final predictions for how the first round (and beyond) could play out next weekend. The latest to do so is The Athletic's Dane Brugler, one of the top draft analysts in the business, who released a full, seven-round mock draft this week. Here is who Brugler projected to the Giants with each of their eight draft picks, along with commentary from the analyst on a few of the picks. The end of the mock draft season is fast approaching as the real thing gets underway in a week.

But no mock draft season wouldn’t be complete without a full mock from Dane Brugler of The Athletic, author of The Beast [subscription] draft guide. Brugler’s selections for the Giants seem to be pretty balanced as far as addressing both sides of the ball, and although he mostly stuck to his big board, he did take a quarterback higher... Let’s break down and grade Brugler’s choices. The Giants add the most explosive pass rusher in the draft to go with two other edge rushers in a similar mold. That gives the Giants three players who can hunt the quarterback, disrupt the backfield, and chase down running backs. While it would be challenging to see Carter, Thibodeaux, and Burns with their hands in the dirt simultaneously, Carter could line up as an inside linebacker and operate as a free blitzer or a...

After I finish up “The Beast,” my attention shifts to a complete seven-round mock draft. It’s a time-exhaustive task, but I also see it as a helpful thought exercise to focus on team needs, draft trends and fits for all 32 organizations. Scroll to the bottom for team-by-team draft hauls to better see how each team did in this scenario. (Editor’s note: An asterisk designates a compensatory draft pick.) It became clear at the combine that Ward would be the No. 1 pick.

The only question: Would the Titans trade out or stick and pick themselves? Over the last month, it’s become apparent that Tennessee plans to stay in the top spot and hand Ward the keys to its franchise. The Browns are desperate to get the quarterback position right, although I don’t expect them to force the pick. With the best player in the draft still available, it makes sense that the choice here would be Hunter, who could provide a spark on offense (and defense). We're down to nearly one week until the 2025 NFL draft begins April 24 from Green Bay, Wisconsin. That Thursday night will begin three days of madness as 32 NFL teams make 257 total picks to shape the next crop of professional talent.

The first few picks of Round 1 have become clear over the last few months of the NFL draft process. Miami quarterback Cam Ward, Colorado wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter and Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter are expected to go in the first three selections in some order. After that, things can be pretty wide open and fans of all 32 teams are meticulously combing through the latest mock drafts to get some clues as to what their favorite franchise will do... On April 16, one of the most respected evaluators in NFL draft coverage, The Athletic's Dane Brugler, released a seven-round mock draft of all 257 picks. It's a lot to get through so here are some takeaways from his latest predictions: Click here to read Brugler's full 257-pick mock draft.

Quarterbacks are all the rage when it comes to the yearly NFL Draft. Teams that struggled the year before are hoping to find the difference maker who can help turn the franchise's fortunes around. Heading into the 2024 college football season, Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe was one of the favorite options to lead the 2025 NFL Draft class. After a strong 2023 campaign, he struggled last season finishing with 2,844 passing yards with 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. While his passing numbers dipped, Milroe added 726 yards and an impressive 20 touchdowns on the ground. He had the second-most rushing touchdowns for quarterbacks, trailing only Army's Bryson Dally, who had 32.

Milroe's interception number forced him down draft boards, with more accurate quarterbacks being prioritized in early rankings of this year's class. The Alabama quarterback is arguably the best dual-threat QB available, but he needed to prove to teams at the NFL Combine and private workouts that he can become more accurate to complement his rushing... It feels like Miami quarterback Cam Ward is destined to go to the Titans with the first overall pick in the draft. After that, there isn't really a consensus with the quarterbacks in this class. Here's a rundown of where Milroe has been projected in the latest mocks from NFL Draft experts. Each passing day brings another potential wrinkle to what the New York Giants might do.

General manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll have faced an offseason of decisions that will speak to the urgency of turning the franchise into a winner again. That comes with the obvious pressure under which everyone will be operating as they enter a pivotal fourth season in control of Big Blue. The Giants' brass has to sell a plan to ownership, and for Schoen and Daboll, they also need to win. How much do they have to win? No one's inside the head of John Mara, so don't pretend like we know that answer. But for Schoen and Daboll, finding a way to have the two separate tracks of this offseason convene at a common spot at some point in 2025 is the ultimate goal and challenge.

With NFL Draft festivities in Green Bay set to begin with the first round in prime time on April 24, we will continue to analyze what we know about the prospects who should be...
