7 round nfl mock draft titans shock and pass on qb raiders land

The 2024-25 NFL season is nearing its end, and while two teams have their sights set on the Super Bowl, the remaining 30 teams have the 2025 NFL Draft to look forward to. With most of the draft order finalized at this point, now feels like as good of a time as any to set up a 7-round Mock Draft. For a more in-depth breakdown of each athlete, head to the PFN Top 100 Big Board for the 2025 NFL Draft. The draft order was based on the PFN Mock Draft Simulator. It would be tempting for the Titans to use the No. 1 pick on a quarterback, but after their president of football operations Chad Brinker mentioned they wouldn’t pass on a “generational talent,” that doesn’t particularly scream “quarterback” given the consensus opinion of this class.

Abdul Carter was always an explosive, competitive football player with elite physical attributes. When he switched to the edge full-time, he showcased the deep arsenal of pass-rushing moves to project as a superstar edge rusher in the NFL. One could make a strong argument he’s the best player in this year’s class — and playing a premier position should make him a serious No. 1 pick candidate. We're down to less than a week left of the NFL regular season in 2025. All but two of the 14 playoff berths have been secured - leaving many teams on the outside looking in for Week 18.

Before the regular season finale, many fanbases are already looking ahead to the offseason and how their favorite franchise could improve its roster. The best way to do that is through the NFL Draft, thanks to young, inexpensive talent that can develop into team cornerstones over time. The 2026 NFL Draft class will feature quarterbacks at the top. How many is a question, as some haven't declared for the draft yet. Beyond that, it will be another good class for defensive line and interior offensive line prospects. It's a standout year for linebackers at a time when the league is desperate for more talent at the position.

The top of the draft order changed with Week 17's results. There's a new team at No. 1: the Las Vegas Raiders. They're now in the driver's seat for the top pick entering the regular season finale. Who they pick and how the rest of the first round will go are burning questions for fans across the country. We've compiled expert predictions from Pro Football Focus, CBS Sports, A to Z Sports and Bleacher Nation to see what every team in the first round could do:

The Raiders are officially on the clock, holding the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Geno Smith remains under contract for 2026, but Las Vegas cannot realistically enter next season with him as the unquestioned starter, especially with a partially or entirely new coaching staff likely coming to town. The Las Vegas Raiders are sitting pretty in the 2026 NFL Draft order. Before they even took the field, they were locked into the No. 1 overall pick with the New York Giants, the only team that could pass them via tiebreakers, winning on Sunday.

And with that being the case and even more shake-ups in the draft order, we have to see how everything sits following the last week of the regular season, and how an NFL Mock... More than just the Raiders moved around or locked in favorable spots in Week 18, which makes this even more fun to dissect. That's even more so true with the College Football Playoff raising the stock of several prospects, including the top two quarterbacks in the 2026 draft class. But let's start by looking at the updated draft order before we dive into a mock draft with a projection for the Top 10 picks. So much is changing in the draft order after Week 18. Like we said, Vegas is locked into the No.

1 pick because of the Giants' win — but that also means that New York moves down to the No. 5 selection with the victory, which pushes the Cardinals even higher in the draft order. Meanwhile, the Saints finally stopped their winning ways of late to lock themselves into a Top 10 pick, the same of which is true for the Bengals. While our quick NFL Mock Draft will only focus on the Top 10 picks momentarily, though, it's worth noting that the Dallas Cowboys might be the biggest winners, losing in Week 18. They slot in at No. 12 for now, which means they should have a crack at an elite talent.

And Green Bay's pick to them has been getting even better down the stretch as well, which sets Jerry Jones up for even more chaos of his own creation. With the Raiders locked into the first-overall pick, they have their choice of quarterback. While I slightly prefer Fernando Mendoza, my gut tells me that Las Vegas will prefer the upside of Dante Moore, at least as far as the current regime is concerned (though that could change... Moore has all the tools, but less experience and more development ahead. For me, though, the Raiders aren't all that close to competing, so betting on the upside fits their timeline a little more seriously. The pre-draft process is officially in the books, and all eyes in the NFL world are now focused on Green Bay and the first round of the NFL Draft.

Similarly, Sporting News is also on the clock with its annual seven-round mock draft. The stock of several players at positions across the board is still unknown — as well as what teams are thinking they'll do with each selection — but here's projecting whom every team can... SN's NFL DRAFT HQ: Live tracker | Pick-by-pick grades | Top 250 big board The Titans are getting more locked into taking their next franchise QB. Ward's arm, athleticism, and experience have appeal to help them move on from Will Levis. The 2025 NFL Draft begins with the Tennessee Titans at No.

1 overall, and many expect them to select Miami quarterback Cam Ward. Tennessee is in the market for a new quarterback after Will Levis struggled last season, and all the Titans did in free agency was sign Brandon Allen and Tim Boyle. Quarterback headlines the list of Titans needs, but it's not the only important position Tennessee should address later this month. The Titans are desperate for pass-rush help after parting ways with Harold Landry last month, and also need help at receiver. While the offensive line was revamped in free agency, a couple of depth pieces would be nice, and then the Titans could target talent at linebacker, safety and running back. As it stands now, the Titans hold just two picks in the top 100 but could that change?

Let's run through a seven-round mock draft for the Titans, using Pro Football Network's mock draft machine. Since I'm Mike Borgonzi in this situation, I orchestrated a couple of trades down the draft board. Ready? Let's jump in. The 2025 NFL Draft is to take place from April 24-26 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. More draft coverage can be found at CBSSports.com, including the weekly mock drafts and a regularly available look at the eligible prospects.

The Tennessee Titans are in the best position one could hope to be in the 2025 NFL Draft, as they are in possession of the No. 1 overall pick and have a few extra Day 3 picks they can use to build out some depth at the back end of this roster. A new day might be beginning in Tennessee. With a new GM in former Chiefs executive Mike Borgonzi in charge of turning this team into a winner, head coach Brian Callahan might be able to turn this team around if he lands... In the weaker AFC South, anything could be possible. The Titans have the ability to build a consistent winner in short order, but it must start with Borgonzi bringing the same drafting expertise he had in Kansas City over to Tennessee.

Following this 7-round plan of attack might be the best way for Borgonzi and Callahan to realize their dream. This pick is looking more likely by the minute, as Will Levis' stagnation in his second season made this a clear and obvious pick for a Tennessee team that needs to compete with CJ... If he hits, Ward's ceiling could make him one of the AFC's premier quarterbacks. With a rocket of a right arm, great playmaking instincts, and five years of experience as a high-end college starter, Ward is without question the best quarterback prospect in this class. Ward can start right away in Tennessee and instantly give the offense the credibility it lacked with Levis. With the transfer policy and NIL revenue encouraging players to maximize their college eligibility, the 2026 NFL Draft lacks the bonanza of high-end talent we’ve seen in previous years.

That said, there are plenty of future NFL starters — and even stars — at every position available. Like always, the organizations whose scouting and coaching departments are aligned will likely improve their rosters the most with their selections between April 23-25 in Pittsburgh. But therein lies the cold reality. Many of the teams whose seasons just ended are facing massive decisions within their coaching and scouting departments. The Falcons just dismissed their head coach and general manager and personnel changes are expected elsewhere in the coming days, which will cause ripple effects throughout the league. There's still much to sort out, but the conclusion of the NFL’s regular season Sunday night locked in the selection order for the first 18 picks of the draft.

And with the player pool clarifying each day as the college season finishes, we are now on the cusp of "draft season." With that, here's our latest 2026 mock draft. It promises to be a fascinating offseason in Las Vegas, where Geno Smith's future is up in the air after head coach Pete Carroll was fired. Regardless of whether the Raiders bring back Smith, getting a fresh face at the game’s most important position is critical to keeping the fan base believing. Mendoza has looked every bit the No. 1 overall pick in earning the Heisman Trophy and guiding Indiana to a possible national championship. Mendoza’s physical traits — a prototypical frame, lightning-quick release, pocket mobility and accuracy to all levels of the field — warrant a first round selection, but it's his decision-making and poise that has turned...
