2025 Nfl Mock Draft Roundup Travis Hunter Drops To No 3 After Msn
The With the First Pick RV is back in the garage after making stops at the Shrine and Senior Bowls in recent weeks. It's always good to see these players in person -- and yes, I've been accused (mostly by my podcast co-host Rick Spielman) of falling in love when I finally get eyes on these guys... (By the way, check out all our podcasts from both the Shrine Bowl and Senior Bowl here, here or here -- or wherever you get your podcasts.) There are still just two quarterbacks going in Round 1, but the all-star game circuit confirmed what my eyes saw in the fall: This class is deep along the defensive line, both on the... And while the offensive line looked thin(nish) at times, there are some dudes, especially on the inside. Put another way: Don't be distracted by the "This is a weak class" talk in the coming weeks.
It's not "six QBs in the top 12" deep, but there are are some special talents who will hear their names called early, and the depth at certain positions will run well into Day... That, in some ways, makes it more exciting as we work our way up to the actual draft on April 24. The 2025 NFL Draft is to take place from April 24-26 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. More draft coverage can be found at CBSSports.com, including the weekly mock drafts and a regularly available look at the eligible prospects. It's the thing that happens in the NFL Draft, right? The quarterback-starved teams sometimes reach for a QB, and an all-around amazing athlete like Heisman Trophy-winner Travis Hunter get bumped down.
In the latest mock from our Christian D’Andrea — a top-five mini-mock — he had Hunter being taken No. 4 overall by the New England Patriots, with Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders and LSU OT Will Campbell taken No. 3. In the latest NFL mock draft from CBS Sports, that's the case with Hunter -- Josh Edwards has the Patriots grabbing Hunter at No. 4, which would be really nice value there. Here's his take on why:
The expectation is that most teams will prefer Travis Hunter at cornerback, but he has the talent to appear in some wide receiver packages as well. New England needs to supplement the offensive core, so it would not be a surprise if the Patriots favored a full-time player like Tetairoa McMillan. There you have it! Make sure to check out the latest mock draft from D’Andrea! With the masses about to descend on Indianapolis for the annual NFL Combine, opinions about the 2025 NFL Draft are about to shift dramatically. Bucky Brooks breaks down the first round of the draft prior to the madness starting for NFL.com.
Brooks posted a complete mock draft, his second attempt of the season, on NFL.com. It includes several noteworthy selections. On3 has compiled the list from Bucky Brooks and added some commentary below. There’s not necessarily quite as clear a consensus for the No. 1 overall pick as there is in some other years, but Carter has quickly moved to the forefront of the 2025 NFL Draft. Even given an injury that will keep him from working out at the NFL Combine, there’s enough on tape for teams to love.
Carter finished his 2024 season with 68 total tackles, 23.5 tackles for a loss, 12.0 sacks, two forced fumbles, four pass breakups and four passes defended. If that isn’t No. 1 overall production we don’t know what is. The pieces of the puzzle are coming together for every potential draft pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. In this 2025 NFL Mock Draft, we take into consideration the most up-to-date NFL team’s needs, and our most recent player rankings update to give you what we’d do as the GM of each... The Titans need a quarterback.
They tried a year with Will Levis, and it landed them as the first overall pick in the draft. Tennesse needs a rebuild, and adding a quarterback is step one. Getting Cam Ward on a rookie deal is exactly what they need, giving them the freedom to spend on building a supporting cast for the rookie. If Cleveland wasn’t able to keep Myles Garrett on the team, then I think the Browns would have possibly thought about going for a quarterback here or trading back for a haul of picks. However, with Garrett staying in town, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to pair up two monsters on the defensive line. Abdul Carter is by far the best overall prospect in this draft and will be an instant impact player.
After months of speculation that Sheduer Sanders was going to be a Giant, New York flipped it on us with the signings of Jamies Winston and Russell Wilson. Even if the Giants signed one of the two then I do think that Sanders would have been taken here. But he we are, and I actually think taking Travis Hunter is the better move. Colorado Swiss army knife Travis Hunter is one of the most unique NFL Draft prospects in years. The Heisman contender is considered one of the best prospects at both wide receiver and cornerback, raising legitimate questions about his highest-ceiling position in the league. Below we take a look at Hunter’s 2024 season, his projected landing spot in our latest mock draft, player comparisons, and more.
In the latest mock draft from Pro Football Network NFL Draft Analyst Ian Cummings, Hunter was selected No. 3 overall by the Tennessee Titans. Here’s what Cummings had to say on Hunter’s potential fit in Nashville, Tenn.: “The Titans didn’t have a chance to pick one of the two top quarterbacks in this 2025 NFL Mock Draft, but they still came away with a blue-chip talent in Travis Hunter. And with Hunter, they can toy with the idea of adding an evolutionary playmaker at WR or CB. Well, ladies and gentlemen, we are just days away from the start of the NFL Draft.
That means it's time for the next edition of the OutKick NFL Mock Draft! Obviously, much has changed since we put out our first mock draft in late January. Let's dive in… Nothing has changed from my first mock draft with the #1 overall pick. When you look around the league, one thing is clear: teams need a good quarterback. The Titans haven't had one in a while, so they have to take a shot here.
Clearly, Ward is the top option this year. The Browns could use a quarterback following the Deshaun Watson debacle, but my sense is that they're not in love with any of the options after Ward. While people might scream "trade down!," teams have to find a willing partner. If no one likes the quarterbacks, then it's going to be hard to get a huge return for this pick. I think they will stay here and take the two-way threat in Hunter. In OutKick's second mock draft of the 2025 NFL Draft season, the Browns select Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter.
The Giants are in a similar position as the Browns, and they are likely to also go with the "Best Player Available" route, rather than force it with a quarterback they don't love. Carter fits the bill as a potential game-wrecker at the NFL level, and you can never have too many great pass rushers in the modern NFL. • Travis Hunter goes to Jacksonville at No. 1: Hunter has been nothing short of exceptional, earning the second-highest coverage grade among FBS cornerbacks and boasting the fifth-highest grade among wide receivers. The ideal approach would be to play Hunter as a full-time cornerback while incorporating occasional reps at wide receiver each week. • The Giants land their quarterback of the future: Ward does come with some concerns, as his turnover-worthy play percentage has been high throughout his five seasons as a starter — though his 2.6%...
However, he also has a knack for delivering big-time throws and the talent to execute them. For the Giants, Ward offers a higher passing ceiling than they’ve had since Eli Manning's tenure. • Unlock your edge with a PFF+ subscription: Get full access to all our in-season fantasy tools, including weekly rankings, WR/CB matchup charts, weekly projections, the Start-Sit Optimizer and more. However, with nearly 300 prospects already featured on PFF’s big board, it’s time to expand beyond a single round.
For this mock draft, we’re taking it three rounds deep to provide a more comprehensive look at how teams could approach the draft.
