My dynasty fantasy football rookie rankings will be updated all the way to the 2025 NFL Draft, with a huge revision coming post-draft as well. Every year, we try to do our best to predict 32 NFL Draft selections (or more) while knowing that once this untamed beast is set free and teams are on the clock, all bets... Well, here’s my first jaunt into the NFL Mock Draft streets (with more to come) with my 2025 NFL Mock Draft 1.0. With this exercise, I’m trying to be predictive while keeping what I would necessarily do with every pick out of the equation.
There are no trades in this 2025 NFL Mock Draft, but I’ll likely be adding some trades to future versions. Ok, that’s enough build-up. Let’s discuss the first round of the NFL Draft and what could happen. This year’s class is particularly intriguing because it lacks depth and premier talent at positions like wide receiver and cornerback, but the pre-draft process will create plenty of risers and fallers. Our latest 2025 NFL mock draft takes you through our latest Round 1 projections for all 32 teams. With the offseason underway, we’ve also included a few trades in our 2025 NFL Draft mock so let’s dive in. By keeping general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll, the New York Giants put themselves in a position where they must take a quarterback. A GM with his job at stake will be more aggressive, even if it means sacrificing future draft assets. So, New York gets aggressive here.
Cam Ward offers superior physical tools compared to Shedeur Sanders and he seems to be the preferred QB for Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Malik Nabers. Ward’s athleticism and arm strength make him an exciting fit in Daboll’s offense and New York has enough of a supporting cast in place to make life easier for the rookie quarterback. Related: Best landing spots for top NFL free agent QBs 2025 The Cleveland Browns need a new face of the franchise with Deshaun Watson almost guaranteed to never play another snap for this team. Signing a veteran QB on the cheap (Kirk Cousins) is a viable possibility, but at this point, other teams can offer a better supporting cast.
So, Cleveland rolls the dice on a rookie. Shedeur Sanders is experienced, poised, makes good decisions with the football and is accurate. Kevin Stefanski’s system needs a polished passer on a rookie-scale contract who can execute the play designs while adding a little creativity when needed. Plus, there won’t be a ton of pressure on Sanders to perform well immediately. Related: Insider sheds light on odds of Cleveland Browns making Myles Garrett trade There are so many people out there every spring trying to guess what NFL teams are going to do in the NFL Draft.
That's a fool's errand -- like predicting what my 6-year-old is going to do any given Saturday when we walk out to the soccer pitch. Some times, he looks like the second coming of Declan Rice. Others, it looks like he's never seen a ball before in his life. Instead of trying to forecast the future, I present my Mock Draft ... with a Twist, in which I advise the teams on what they should do when the 2025 NFL Draft kicks off (April 24-26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin). It's sort of like the way I suggest what my kids should do on the pitch, and allow them to surprise me when they actually listen.
Like the Raiders last season! They surely weren't going to take Brock Bowers until my mock telling them to do so came out last year. Will teams follow suit this year? Let's take a look! Titans, I understand the logic that would point you to the best player on the board here, regardless of position, but you have to get the quarterback right. And in this case, that means using the No.
1 overall choice on the QB that the unbiased hosts of the Miami Hurricanes-focused Orange Bowl Boys podcast told me might be better than Jayden Daniels. Maybe they are actually a bit biased. Even so, Ward looks like he's got a chance to be a good NFL quarterback, and you need to get this settled. Or you could always see if Ryan Tannehill is still available. (Kidding.) Browns, you are in a similar spot as the Titans, with quarterback looming as a huge need.
But is Shedeur Sanders the right guy to take this high? As much as I like Sanders as a prospect, you went to the playoffs in 2023 with five different QBs earning starts, including veteran Joe Flacco -- who, hey, after an uneven stop in... If Flacco and Kenny Pickett (and whatever other QB you might end up with) can stabilize the offense, adding Carter to the defense might be enough to get you back in the playoffs again. (Also, you should get one of those Ohio State running backs in the second round, too!) The O-line is a mess, and there are other needs -- but what you really need is a game-changer who will help the fans forget Saquon Barkley just won a Super Bowl with the... OK, so they probably won't ever actually forget that, but still; you could have an offense with Malik Nabers, Jeanty and Russell Wilson, and that’s ...
not terrible? Take an offensive lineman in the second round. Take Ashton now and let your fan base love again. Daniel Flick’s predictions: Mock draft 1.0 | Mock draft 2.0 | Mock draft 3.0 | Mock draft 4.0 | Mock draft 5.0 | Mock Draft 6.0 The NFL scouting combine has kicked off in Indianapolis and pro days will be coming in the weeks to follow. Teams also have free agency in March and that will further influence the draft board.
But for now, this is how our network of On SI publishers and reporters see the first round playing out. Unlike last year when we had a run on quarterbacks in the top half of the draft, this year will be heavy on the offensive and defensive lines, running backs and tight ends. When all the dust settles, and the Titans explore all options, selecting a franchise quarterback will always reign supreme. Sanders has been the top quarterback in this class since Day 1. That won’t change on April 24. —Noah Strackbein
The Browns don’t appear likely to entertain trades for Myles Garrett. While Cleveland could certainly consider Miami QB Cam Ward here, the better selection would be to draft a dominant interior defensive lineman and immediately give Garrett help by making teams think twice about double-teaming... They can address QB later in the draft. —Brendan Gulick Happy Draft Day, everybody. This is my first and only mock for this cycle, and it's coming just hours before the Titans are officially on the clock.
Hey, better late than never. Mocks this time of year are tricky because while it's true that we're as close to a consensus on the first rounders as we're going to get, keeping up with the rumor mill this... And much of what's being peddled out there is a smoke screen anyway. If you're looking for more draft content, make sure you check out Mario Puig's three-round mock and Joe Bartel's mock draft and NFL draft props. Same deal. This feels like a lock, even if the idea of an Abdul Carter-Myles Garrett tandem is fun to dream on.
The Giants might want to move back, but with no quarterbacks worth taking at 3, it's hard to envision them finding a dance partner willing to pay full freight. They'll just have to settle for the best EDGE in the class and the best player available. Ho hum. Kyle's updated 2025 NFL Mock Draft, as well as predictions for all 32 picks in Round 1. Kyle breaks down everything you need to know about the top prospects. The 2024 NFL regular season has come to a close, and the first 18 picks of the 2025 NFL Draft order are now etched in stone!
We ended up with a few surprise teams in the top two after the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Giants had the top spots locked down for a while. The New England Patriots won in Week 18 and moved from No. 1 down to No. 4 in the draft order. The win likely cost the Patriots a possible trade-down from No. 1 being that they already have Drake Maye in the fold at quarterback.
While most of us don't love tanking and want to see our teams do well on Sundays, it's understandable why several Patriots fans were upset with the win over the Buffalo Bills in Week... As always, these selections aren't based on what I would do personally but on team needs, intel from local beat reporters, GM/front office tendencies, positional value under the salary cap, and the overall talent... This group doesn't have the same offensive star power that 2024 did, but there are plenty of good players available. Now, let's dive in, shall we? Quarterback-needy teams at the top of the draft hardly ever move back. Sure, gathering a bunch of extra picks to move down sounds good in theory, but unless you can strike gold as the 49ers did with a later-drafted guy like Brock Purdy, you're going to...
