New York will turn to Tyrod Taylor this week, but what will it do at quarterback beyond this season? O.J. Simpson's estate has accepted a $58 million claim from Fred Goldman, an amount that far exceeds its assets. Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt will likely have surgery that will end his season, coach Zac Taylor indicated on Monday. Adam Schefter reports that the NFL has suspended Ja'Marr Chase one game without pay for spitting on Jalen Ramsey. Last week, we saw 257 names called in the 2024 NFL draft, as teams filled out their classes and tackled big needs.
Some front offices did better than others -- the Eagles and Steelers stood out to me -- but how did the individual picks stack up across all seven rounds? I ranked the best 100 selections. This isn't just a list of the most talented players -- we did that before the draft. Instead, we are incorporating a bit more into the equation than just what each prospect put on tape. As such, 41 picks from Day 3 made the list, but I didn't have all of the top-10 selections in there. To create our ranking, we factored in value (where a player was drafted vs.
where he was ranked pre-draft), scheme fit, how the selection addressed a need, what the prospect brings on the field and whether additional assets were gained or lost in draft-day trades to acquire him. Going into the 2025 season, all six are starting in Week 1 and are joined by one more second-year QB, the New Orleans Saints' Spencer Rattler, a fifth-round pick. But with how some of those quarterbacks performed last season and considering upside expectations for this season, should they have gone in a different order to different teams, including those who didn't take a... If Sporting News were picking again today, here's how those half-dozen passers would be redrafted: Where he went: No. 2 overall to Washington Commanders We all know Williams is going to the Chicago Bears, so there is no reason to pretend like he's not.
He will be the first-overall pick and there is a lot to like about the landing spot and a lot to be worried about. We'll start with the negative and it's an obvious one. This franchise throughout its history has never been able to develop a great quarterback. We aren't even talking elite or Hall of Fame caliber, just a great QB. The two best of the Super Bowl era are Jim McMahon and maybe even Jay Cutler. That's as bad a run as any team has had in the NFL perhaps aside from the Browns.
