Highs in the mid- to upper 40s. Temperatures will be in the upper 30s for New Year's at the Needle at midnight.

Snow level around 10,000 feet. Thursday (New Year's Day): Showers increase from the south into the evening but stay light. Lows in the mid 30s. Highs in the mid to upper 40s. Snow level 7,500 feet. 2025 ends on a dry note before rain returns Thursday.

Increasing chances for rain and slightly warmer overnight lows heading into the first weekend of the new year. The lull in the weather continues for the final days of the year: freezing areas of morning fog followed by daytime sunshine. The pattern starts to break down on New Year's Day, with the wettest weather arriving Friday and Saturday with our next system. Freezing morning fog just continued to build this morning: South Sound, Chehalis Valley, Mason County - even Snohomish and Skagit Counties. Be ready in case you drive into stretches of reduced visibility through late morning, as it may take a while for the foggy sections to clear. Also, drive carefully as black ice may be present.

Afternoon sunshine will be plentiful today...not much wind either. So it'll feel warm through your car windows as you're driving. It's just that the air will stay cold all day until we repeat the pattern tomorrow for New Year's Eve. Mother nature appears, though, to have a New Year's resolution, to get more active - and that starts to develop on New Year's Day. Most of the day is dry, but the clouds return. Evening showers, very light, will then return.

Friday and Saturday, our next system builds in. Heavier showers gradually form, and we'll have to keep an eye on winds Saturday evening, depending on where the storm system tracks. 6-12" of mountain snows will fall, with levels fluctuating between 3-5,000'. Heading up through Snoqualmie Pass? Monitor road conditions and tire requirements - especially Saturday into Sunday. Local Forecast OfficeMore Local Wx3 Day HistoryHourly Weather Forecast
