Mr Kirk, a 31-year-old political commentator on the Republican right who harnessed surging youth support for US President Donald Trump, was shot dead while addressing a large crowd at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. Police say they believe the shooter fired a single bullet from a rooftop up to 180m away, hitting Mr Kirk in the neck. The FBI said the suspect is seen jumping from the rooftop of a building after the shooting. Around 12pm local time on Wednesday, the suspect climbed up to a rooftop, after Mr Kirk was shot and then jumped off and ran away. The FBI and officials say they are searching for a "person of interest" in the shooting of right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk - and have released a video and images.
