FOXBOROUGH — Just minutes after his likeness was immortalized at Gillette Stadium forever with a 12-foot statue, Patriots legend Tom Brady took to the mic in front of thousands at Patriots Place Plaza. In a six-minute speech, the future Hall of Famer thanked the Patriots and the fans he played for over 20 years in the NFL — while also cracking several jokes directed at Mike Vrabel,... “This is quite overwhelming, obviously, and I just thank you so much for being here. It means the world to me. I appreciate it,” Brady said to open up his speech.

“As [Robert Kraft] just said it perfectly — people will never forget how you made them feel. And right now, I feel extremely honored, deeply grateful, and if I’m being honest, kind of old. Tom brady traded tears for touchdowns of laughter at Gillette Stadium this past week, unveiling his statue with a decidedly more comedic tone than his jersey retirement ceremony a year prior. These feats were accomplished under the guidance of Belichick, who recently has been making headlines more for his personal life than his coaching prowess. Yet Brady, familiar with Belichick's high standards and attention to detail, took a playful jab— perhaps a move inspired by Rob Gronkowski who went after the coach at the Netflix Roast. Brady praised the statue's creators, saying, "As for the statue itself, Jeff [Buccacio], you and your team have done an incredible job," but then he paused for a comedic bit. "Seriously it is so accurate, so detailed...hold on one sec...[Brady pretends to answer the phone]. "'Hello?

Really? OK'. [Hangs up phone] Sorry Jeff, that was coach Belichick, he said 'There's still room for improvement.' I know the feeling.", reports the Mirror US.
