Start ‘Em, Sit 'Em is the ultimate look at the best and worst matchups based on a PPR scoring system in fantasy football. This column will not cover the elite players in the NFL like Josh Allen, Bijan Robinson or Ja’Marr Chase. Instead, I'll look at the players who could exceed or fail to meet expectations at each position. For all of your final fantasy lineup decisions, be sure to check out my weekly player rankings, which will be updated daily throughout the 2025 NFL season. 1. Trey McBride vs.

Theo Johnson vs. Packers Pat Freiermuth vs. Bengals (1 p.m. ET, CBS): I’m not sure if it will be Freiermuth, Jonnu Smith or Darnell Washington, but there’s a good chance one of them will post a nice stat line against the Bengals. Their defense has allowed the most points per game to opposing tight ends, including 28.1 points to Freiermuth in Week 7.

For those looking for some help at the position, the veteran is well worth a look. Cade Otton at Bills (1 p.m. ET, CBS): Otton has been on fire, scoring 10-plus points in four of his last five games, including 17.2 points in last week’s loss to New England. He’s also seen at least five targets in four straight games, and he should continue to see his share of chances with Chris Godwin out. So, while the matchup against Buffalo is bad on paper, I’m still rolling with Otton this weekend. Theo Johnson vs.

Packers (1 p.m. ET, Fox): Johnson has quietly put up starter-worthy numbers for fantasy managers over the last seven weeks. In that span, he’s recorded double digits five times, including 14.5 points in a loss to the Bears in Week 10. Johnson has a nice matchup next on the schedule too, as the Packers have surrendered 11 or more fantasy points to five tight ends this season. You have lineup questions, we have lineup answers -- at least we hope so. Start 'Em, Sit 'Em is here to help fantasy managers make difficult roster decisions.

And you know what is a good move? Starting Christian McCaffrey. But that's too obvious, so you won't see such simple analysis here. Instead, we're exploring more debatable situations. Last Sunday, with Davis Mills at the helm, Schultz had a season-high 11 targets. His 18.6 fantasy points were his second-most of the year. He has proven to be a safe floor option with 8-plus fantasy points in all but one game since Week 3. Lately, though, we've seen totals closer to his ceiling, with Schultz hitting 13-plus in three of his last four games. He topped 18 in two of those. Wouldn't be surprised if we see another double-digit outing from him in Tennessee.

With Dalton Kincaid week-to-week with a hamstring injury, Knox takes over as Buffalo's top TE option. We already know Knox and Josh Allen have a strong chemistry, especially in the red zone, and that the Bills like to feature their lead TE in their passing attack. In what could be a high-scoring game, I like Knox's chances of finding the end zone. Both TEs are in play in this Bucs-Bills matchup! That might surprise some of you, considering how tough Buffalo has been against opposing tight ends. Like, allowing the fewest fantasy PPG to the position tough.

I suspect Otton will be a popular sit call this week. I, however, think he's worth rolling the dice on unless you also have one of the league's elite TEs on your roster. With the Bucs so banged up at receiver, Otton has seen his share of opportunities. Last week alone he had 12 targets. Since Week 5, he's averaged 12.2 fantasy PPG, with more than 10 points in all but one game. He could be involved in one of the higher-scoring matchups of the week, as well.

Week 10 was the first game the Packers were forced to play with their superstar tight end, Kraft. We need to be careful not to be too critical of Musgrave's lack of success. That's because Jordan Love and the entire offense struggled.

The Eagles are also allowing the third-fewest points to tight ends this season. Those things are naturally going to negatively affect Musgrave Welcome to the Week 11 edition of fantasy football starts and sits from The Sporting News. A couple of teams on their bye week, and some injuries continuing to pile up. As such, managers are once again scouring the waiver wire and debating lineup decisions. Fortunately, several star players are trending upward at just the right time.

These include Trey McBride, George Kittle, and Sam LaPorta. Meanwhile, some big names are better left on the bench in tough matchups or inconsistent offensive schemes. You might be fighting to secure a playoff spot or simply trying to avoid a late-season slide. No matter what, here’s a look at which tight ends deserve your trust in Week 11 and which ones you might want to fade. Few players at the position are as scorching-hot as Trey McBride right now. In Week 10, McBride erupted for nine catches on 13 targets for 127 yards and a touchdown.

That was his first 100-yard outing of the season. With Jacoby Brissett under center, McBride has rediscovered his red-zone magic. He has found the end zone five times in his last four starts. The 49ers’ defense has shown cracks against athletic tight ends, especially with injuries across their linebacking corps. Expect Brissett to rely heavily on McBride again as both a safety valve and a big-play weapon. He’s a top-three option this week.

It’s officially George Kittle season again. The veteran tight end torched the Rams in Week 10. He had nine receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown. Given the offensive rhythm San Francisco found late in that game, there’s every reason to expect more of the same. The Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints are on a bye in Week 11, meaning fantasy managers of tight ends like Tyler Warren and Juwan Johnson will have to look elsewhere for production. Fantasy players who invested in the position early in their drafts were mainly disappointed through the first half of this season.
