The Daily Wire Left Wing Groups Funded Climate Alarmism Journalism
Five non-profit groups published a report Wednesday debunking mainstream media claims about the disastrous impacts of the so-called climate change crisis this year, which also included receiving millions of dollars to fund climate coverage. The “Climate Fact Check 2022” report created by the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI), the Heartland Institute, Energy & Environment Legal Institute, Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT), and the International Climate Science Coalition (ICSC)... “Climate alarmists and their media allies once again made a slew of claims about natural disasters being caused by manmade emissions in 2022,” the report reads. “And once again, these claims clashed with reality and science.” According to the report, The Associated Press received donations from large foundations pushing climate alarmism for decades. Such groups included the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Quadrivium, the Rockefeller Foundation, and the Walton Family Foundation.
One example the report included came from an article written by AP reporter Seth Borenstein, called “New abnormal: Climate disaster damage ‘down’ to $268 billion,” which said some worldwide natural disasters like the Pakistan... Much has been made of the Associated Press getting the boot from the White House. It’s even sparked a protracted legal battle between AP and the Trump administration. The AP’s sudden difficulty getting access to the president has been a long time coming as the news organization has drifted strongly to the left in recent years. What’s equally important to note is the recent shift in AP’s funding model, which increasingly relies on donations from, in many cases, far-left advocacy organizations. Take for instance, a recent AP story on the budget reconciliation bill making its way through Congress and the inclusion of a $5 billion school voucher program.
The story is framed with the assumption that school choice policies are harmful. Fox News contributor Raymond Arroyo joins ‘The Ingraham Angle’ to discuss Vice President Kamala Harris’ plan to counter Islamophobia and climate activist’s newest move. A little-known, Boston-based organization focused on sustainability and combating global warming and fueled by millions of dollars in dark money funding has quietly established itself in recent years as a key federal policymaking power... Ceres, a nonprofit advocacy organization founded in 1989, in recent years has established elaborate networks of financial institutions, pension funds, labor unions and major multinational corporations, rallying those members to pursue shared left-wing climate... The group has simultaneously worked hand-in-hand with other environmental groups and federal and state policymakers to forward its agenda. "Ceres is trying to drive the climate agenda through subterfuge and milking the power of wealthy investment firms and big corporations," Jason Isaac, the founder and CEO of the American Energy Institute, told Fox...
"They're getting rich while they believe that they're saving the world. I say they're destroying the planet to save the Earth in their minds, and that the scourge of the Earth is us humans. At the same time, they just happen to be profiting very handsomely from their advocacy, so they feel good about it. I call it a cult. It has become their religion." It brands itself as a neutral purveyor of “unbiased news,” but The Associated Press (AP) is heavily influenced in its reporting by powerful and well-funded left-wing organizations.
The nation’s top wire service, the AP is bankrolled to the tune of millions of dollars by far-left groups that include one called the Ida B. Wells Society, which was founded by “1619 Project” author Nikole Hannah-Jones. The AP also maintains strategic “partnerships” with entities that essentially bribe reporters to cover climate change, race, and democracy issues from a biased perspective. “A review of the donor roster shows that the vast majority fund left-wing political causes, while none are supporters of conservative initiatives,” The Washington Free Beacon reports. Hannah-Jones, by the way, recently teamed up with filmmaker Steven Spielberg’s Hearthland Foundation to foster “more inclusive storytelling” at the AP. The word “inclusive” is usually code for anti-white and pro-everything not white.
Ron Nixon, the AP’s global investigations editor, just so happens to serve on the board of the Ida B. Wells Society’s board of directors. Hannah-Jones, meanwhile, is a highly controversial figure whose account of the allegedly true motivations of the American revolutionaries is heavily disputed by historians. The Climate Blueprint for Media Transformation encourages journalists to embrace left-wing tactics and talking points Some of the country’s biggest liberal foundations are behind a plan to inject climate hysteria into newsrooms across the country by encouraging journalists in all fields to employ left-wing tactics and talking points when... The Climate Blueprint for Media Transformation was born out of a 2023 climate conference sponsored by the Solutions Journalism Network and Covering Climate Now.
The Solutions Journalism Network is funded by a who’s-who of left-wing foundations, including the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, the Ford Foundation, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Hewlett Foundation. The Gates Foundation has been instrumental in the war on meat, while the Hewlett Foundation has a track record of working to influence reporters. Their influence can be seen in the Climate Blueprint, a 14-part guide for how journalists should cover climate change. Each section of the document is written by a different journalist or activist, and covers subjects ranging from “Community Engagement” to “Climate Justice.” The Climate Blueprint opens with a section called “The Everything Story,” in which Covering Climate Now deputy director Andrew McCormick encourages journalists to “take bold action” and make stories on “every beat,” including crime... Milloy said leftist media networks have been pushing “climate hysteria” for 30 years with little to show for their dire predictions.
