The Best E Ink Tablets For 2025 Todaybestfinds
During 2025, I’ve had the pleasure of reviewing 9 new e-ink tablets, and I thought it would be fun and interesting to rank them all in a tier list. Of course, my rankings are subjective, but I’ve done my best to be as fair as possible – a lot of it comes down to whether I actually go back to using the devices... And, this doesn’t include every single e-ink tablet that was released in 2025 – just the ones that I myself have personally had hands-on experience with (and the new Amazon Kindle Scribes aren’t included... The first thing to notice is that I didn’t include any devices in the S-Class (Superb) or F-Class (Terrible). There’s nothing in the S-Class because I didn’t feel that any of the new e-ink tablets I reviewed this year had anything that really made me say ‘Wow!‘. I’m going to reserve this class for any really amazing and outstanding product that crosses my path in future years.

If you want the closest thing to ‘paper’ for reading and writing, E-Ink tablets are the category to watch in 2025. The field now ranges from highly focused, distraction-free devices (reMarkable) to flexible Android-based E-Ink tablets (Onyx Boox) — and 2025 brought meaningful updates. That includes a new Kindle Scribe family. E-Ink tablets (sometimes called ‘digital paper’ or ‘e-paper tablets’) combine matt, paper-like displays with stylus input so you can read long-form content comfortably and take notes by hand. In 2025, the category expanded in two important directions: Additionally, late-2025 saw major updates from Amazon (a refreshed Kindle Scribe line, now including a color Scribe for the first time) and increased interest in matte ‘paper-like’ LCD alternatives (e.g., TCL Nxtpaper) that compete...
