A lot of people are expressing confusion about April 19th (the next day of action) and I want to try and help clear it up a bit. Individual chapters/ states can choose to protest if they want! We just aren't doing a big national push since many states need more time to plan and coordinate. The idea—50 protests in 50 states on 1 day—was born on r/50501 and spread rapidly on social media. In just days, grassroots organizers—without any budget, centralized structure, or official backing—pulled off over 80 peaceful protests in all 50 states. Since then, the protests have grown over successive days of action: February 17th, March 4th, April 5th, April 19th, May 1st, June 14th, July 4th, July 17th, August 2nd, and October 18th. The movement has mobilized millions of people and brought together a growing network of organizers and organizations, both new and established.

Our movement shows the world that the American working class will not sit idly by as plutocrats rip apart their democratic institutions and civil liberties while undermining the rule of law.
