round 1 nfl draft grade breakdowns by position r nfl draft reddit

The 1st Round of the NFL Draft has concluded so let's do some instant grading and analysis. 1) Tennessee Titans - QB Cam Ward (Miami) Grade: D+ I hate this pick. Does anyone actually think Cam Ward is the best player in the Draft? Are the Titans one Quarterback away? Hell no!

They have so many holes that starting a rookie QB contract now with this is just irresponsible. He better be Jayden Daniels level for this pick to make sense. 2) Jacksonville Jaguars - WR/CB Travis Hunter (Colorado) Grade: F- Trading next year's 1st round pick is absolute insanity for a non-Quarterback. Hunter better be a legit top 5 WR or lockdown CB for this move to make any sense at all. Weak QB year?

Sure. But the Titans secured the best in the class while also hitting their biggest position of need. Ward has exceptional arm talent and supreme self-belief and has shown significant improvement in his play year after year. If he brings this same attitude to the NFL, then the Titans will have their franchise star for the next decade. A potential unicorn for his ability to play on both sides of the ball. If he can provide value as both a receiver and cornerback, then Hunter would be far and away the draft's best value.

While the player is an elite prospect, the Jaguars paid a lot to get him. In moving up three spots, the Jaguars sacrificed a future first-round pick. Now, Travis Hunter will have to outperform the Cleveland Browns' next two first-round picks for this move to be worth its value. The Giants have the best player in the draft fall to them at 3. An explosive pass rusher that will make G-men’s defensive line one of the most feared in the NFL alongside Brian Burns and Dexter Lawrence. The 2025 NFL Draft is underway, and Round 1 is officially in the books.

Night one of the NFL Draft was not missing any drama.

We had four trades including the Jaguars jumping up to two. Two Quarterbacks were drafted, but one expected name is missing. There were even a few questionable reaches. We had our live reactions throughout the first round on the Belly Up Sports NFL Draft Show. Here are my draft grades by position. Cam Ward was a lock to go to Tennessee, and it is the pick the Titans had to make.

Ward has so many NFL traits, but what the Titans do with the rest of their draft will determine the success Ward will have. Neither Russell Wilson or Jameis Winston are going to hoist a Lombardi Trophy in New York, so the Giants need to find their franchise QB. Is Dart that guy? He may be, but I am not sure who the Giants were competing with to move up for him. They got “their” guy, but only time will tell if they are right. Jeanty is clearly the best running back in the draft, and new Raiders coach Pete Carroll loves to run the football.

It is hard not to like the fit for Jeanty and the Raiders The Chargers needed a starting running back, but they also need a WR, a TE, and several defensive positions. Hampton is solid, but the value here is what I question. The Chargers need to hit on every pick this year to make the Hampton selection the right selection.
