Review Tennessee Titans In A New 7 Round Nfl Mock Draft
Late this week, draft expert Dane Brugler churned out a new seven-round NFL Mock Draft on The Athletic, starting with the Tennessee Titans at number one. Below, On SI lays out every Titans pick with takes on each selection. The football world will be shocked if this isn't the outcome at the top of Day One. The Tennessee Titans have needs up and down the roster, but Cam Ward should immediately provide stability and playmaking ability at the most important position in football. Widely viewed as one of the top five receivers available in the draft, Luther Burden III is a versatile receiver who may not have prototype outside receiver height at 5-foot-11, but at 208 pounds... He recorded 86 catches for 1,212 yards and nine touchdowns as only a sophomore in 2023.
The Florida Gators adds significant size to the middle of the Titans defense, at 6-foot-6, 338 pounds. He's a monster of a defensive tackle, very difficult to move off the ball. The Tennessee Titans are on the clock with the first overall pick, but the decision isn’t as straightforward as usual. They could take one of the top two quarterback prospects — a clear need for Tennessee this offseason — but neither is viewed as a can’t-miss, surefire franchise QB. They also have major needs at edge rusher, cornerback, and wide receiver, all of which feature prospects worthy of the No. 1 pick.
The best option might be to trade back. A move down to No. 3 with the New York Giants, for example, would give the Titans significant additional draft capital while still allowing them to land an elite prospect at a position of need. For this mock draft, however, Tennessee stays at No. 1, focused on finding the face of the franchise. Sanders may not have elite athleticism or a rocket arm, but he checks all the boxes needed to succeed as an NFL passer.
His 2024 adjusted completion percentage of 81.9% ranked second in the country. When kept clean, he recorded 18 big-time throws (eighth-most) while posting a turnover-worthy play rate of just 0.5% (second-best). He also ranked fourth nationally in both passing grade (92.8) and adjusted completion percentage (70.9%) on intermediate throws (10-19 yards). Factor in that he consistently had to create plays behind a subpar offensive line, and he looks every bit the part of an NFL franchise quarterback. The 2025 NFL Draft begins with the Tennessee Titans at No. 1 overall, and many expect them to select Miami quarterback Cam Ward.
Tennessee is in the market for a new quarterback after Will Levis struggled last season, and all the Titans did in free agency was sign Brandon Allen and Tim Boyle. Quarterback headlines the list of Titans needs, but it's not the only important position Tennessee should address later this month. The Titans are desperate for pass-rush help after parting ways with Harold Landry last month, and also need help at receiver. While the offensive line was revamped in free agency, a couple of depth pieces would be nice, and then the Titans could target talent at linebacker, safety and running back. As it stands now, the Titans hold just two picks in the top 100 but could that change? Let's run through a seven-round mock draft for the Titans, using Pro Football Network's mock draft machine.
Since I'm Mike Borgonzi in this situation, I orchestrated a couple of trades down the draft board. Ready? Let's jump in. The 2025 NFL Draft is to take place from April 24-26 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. More draft coverage can be found at CBSSports.com, including the weekly mock drafts and a regularly available look at the eligible prospects. The rising importance of the 2026 NFL Draft for several teams came into focus after last week's trade deadline.
With the New York Jets having dealt cornerback Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts, there are now four NFL teams that have multiple first-round picks in April. And with the Tennessee Titans and New York Giants having already fired their head coaches, several fan bases are probably ready to close the book on this season and enter offseason mode. But with the first-round order still shifting significantly week to week, there's still ample time for team's draft fortunes to rise or fall. With that said, here's USA TODAY Sports' latest first-round projection and 2026 NFL mock draft: There's a strong possibility for Tennessee to possess the No. 1 pick in consecutive years after the Saints' and Browns' victories left the Titans as the only one-win team remaining.
And that creates a bit of a mystery atop the order. An organization that's yet again rebooting would clearly stand to benefit from trading back and stockpiling more early selections to support Cam Ward. Yet this quarterback class doesn't seem particularly conducive to drumming up a bidding war for this choice. If Tennessee does end up in the slot and stands pat, it could supercharge its defense with Reese. Though he operates as a linebacker for the Buckeyes, the 6-foot-4, 243-pounder has Micah Parsons-like movement abilities that could be best put to use in a full-time edge rushing role. The Titans could pair him with Jeffery Simmons to create one of the league's most formidable inside-outside tandems and then use the rest of the draft – and free agency – to focus on...
A franchise with a decades-long habit of being trigger-shy when it comes to selecting quarterbacks might be hard-pressed to go this route, especially if Tyler Shough continues to exhibit the promise he displayed in... But unless the second-round rookie firmly establishes himself as New Orleans' answer at the position in the back half of the season, Mendoza might be massively alluring. The Heisman Trophy front-runner now also figures to be the favorite to be the first quarterback taken, with his game-winning drive against Penn State highlighting resiliency and a knack for operating out of structure... The 6-5, 225-pounder is the kind of precise thrower who could allow Kellen Moore to launch a new era for the organization in earnest. Most of the attention in Week 11 was turned toward the contenders matched up with one another, but it was also a huge week for the teams already looking toward the 2026 NFL Draft... New York Giants fans watched with bated breath as Jameis Winston took over at quarterback, remembering their draft pick being worsened by a backup before.
But teams like the Tennessee Titans and Washington Commanders, among others, were also hoping their draft pick didn't get any worse. When the dust settled, though, there really wasn't much change in the 2026 NFL Draft order. That can always change week to week, but it's becoming quite clear which teams are the worst in the league and will be picking atop the draft. However, what those teams could do once the draft rolls around might be changing already, which we'll definitely see as we dive into a new NFL mock draft for the Top 10 picks with... There isn't much change at the top of the draft order. Tennessee holds strong with their grasp on the No.
1 overall pick as the NFL's only one-win team through 11 weeks. And frankly, given what this team has looked like on the field, they should be the deserved favorites to stick in that spot and be making the first selection in April's draft for the... Both the Giants and Commanders avoided wins to keep their high draft stock moving forward on Sunday, which fans might have mixed feelings over, but is ultimately better for the future of each franchise. Beyond that, though, the biggest loser of this season might well be the Atlanta Falcons. With another loss to Carolina, they are now firmly inside the Top 10 picks, but will send their first-round selection to the Rams. The Falcons severely miscalculated the ceiling of this roster, and they're going to pay the price for that in the draft, much to the delight of Sean McVay and Les Snead.
Going down to the bottom of the draft order, though, just look at the final pick of the draft right now with the New England Patriots. They're currently projected to go from having a Top 5 selection to having the NFL's best record. It's been quite a turnaround, though their playoff performance will obviously ultimately determine where they're selecting. With less than a month to go until the 2025 NFL Draft, one of the teams with the most flexibility this year is the Tennessee Titans. Holding eight total picks, including the No. 1 overall selection, the team is expected to take steps toward becoming competitive in the NFL once again.
PFSN’s latest seven-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft from Brentley Weismann breaks down all eight of the Titans’ picks, which include a quarterback, an edge rusher, and a wide receiver at the top of the... There is growing speculation across the league that a quarterback will be selected with the first overall pick in this year’s draft. There is still a chance the Tennessee Titans will move this pick to a team like the New York Giants, but there were no trades in Weismann’s mock draft exercise. The Titans need a franchise quarterback, and Cam Ward is arguably this class’s best option. He is a playmaking passer with good instincts and creativity to create big plays out of nothing. He would be a great addition to a Titans offense in dire need of excitement.
The Titans allowed Harold Landry III to walk this free agency and must replace his presence off the edge. Donovan Ezeiruaku is a long, explosive pass rusher who would excel playing next to Jeffery Simmons and T’Vondre Sweat. With the NFL Draft less than a month away, mock draft season is in full swing. As the Titans’ draft strategy at first overall begins to materialize, I figured it was time to try my hand at predicting their other seven picks. This mock draft won’t include any trades, due to NFL draft day trades being wildly unpredictable. With the first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Titans get their franchise quarterback in Cam Ward.
After a disastrous 2024 season behind Will Levis, Tennessee gives the keys to the newest first overall pick. Ward has an enticing blend of arm talent, timing/anticipation, touch and out-of-structure playmaking ability. While some draw similarities between Ward’s decision making issues to those of Will Levis, the difference comes in Ward’s mental ability. Ward has consistently shown the ability to process both pre and post-snap, and consistently progress to the backside of passing concepts. His live arm in addition to his anticipatory throwing also allows him to fit the ball into any window. While the accuracy can be concerning at times, Ward has a clear path to being a franchise cornerstone in Tennessee’s rebuild.
While James Pearce slipping to the top of the second round may come as a shock to some, his fall continues to look more and more likely. Similarly to Missouri receiver Luther Burden, Pearce is another first-round talent who seems to be falling due to supposed character concerns. Now that the Tennessee Titans have secured the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, we decided to give them a full seven-round mock draft update. At this point, the biggest job for the Titans is to evaluate their quarterback position currently and the quarterback class in the upcoming draft. There's no denying Will Levis has been a disappointment after being the No.
33 overall pick to Tennessee in 2023. The easy part for the Titans is no matter what they decide, their Plan B is set. The Titans should have plenty of suitors for the pick, they could draft one of the two big names at quarterback but if neither of those things materialize the way they wan, Colorado wide... First round - WR/CB Travis Hunter, Colorado Second round - EDGE James Pearce Jr., Tennessee The Tennessee Titans hold all the cards when it comes to the 2025 NFL Draft.
