Colorín Colorado is an educational service of WETA, the flagship public broadcasting station in Washington D.C., and receives major funding from the American Federation of Teachers and National Education Association. Colorín Colorado provides free research-based information, activities, and advice to parents, schools, and communities serving educators and families of English language learners (ELLs) in Grades PreK–12. Key resources on this website include: 1) What Works for Multilingual Learners: 7 High-Quality Preschool Practices – This evidence-informed resource succinctly summarizes relevant research and high-quality practices and offers practical applications and resources. 2) Family Literacy at Home is a bilingual video series (English and Spanish) to offer practical tips for how to support reading at home. 3) The Award-Winning ELL Classroom Strategy Library includes step-by-step guides, ideas for differentiation, and resources such as videos and practical examples. While designed for children who are becoming multilingual, these resources can be used to support academic language development for any child/student.

These resources, available in multiple languages, offer tips and ideas to try at home!
