Requesting And Delivery Uw Libraries
All borrowers with a library card UW Libraries Borrower’s Card, Husky Card, or Cascadia ID Your Library Accountafter item has been received by the UW Libraries UW instructors teaching classes (course ID required) UW Libraries Search can be used to request materials from the UWB/CC Campus Library as well as other UW Libraries. These items can then be picked up at the UWB/CC Campus Library. If listed as available, these items usually take about 2-4 days to arrive, weekday delivery only.
You must be logged in with your UW NetID to see the Request button: After finding an item you would like to request, click on the Request button: Select the location where you would like to pick up your item(s) and click the Send Request button: Items can be requested for pick up at a UW Libraries hold shelf using the “Request UW Item” button in UW Libraries Search. After clicking the button, choose your preferred pickup location and click “Submit”. Items will be held for 7 days.
Use this service any time you want an item to be pulled from the shelf or retrieved from storage and held for pickup at the library of your choice. What if someone else gets the book off the shelf before staff are able to retrieve it? Who gets the book? If someone comes to check out a book that has a hold on it, we will check the book out to the person at the desk. Your hold will stay on the item, so it will be placed on the holdshelf for you when it is returned. If the book is a regular loan (i.e.
not a 7 day loan), it will only check out for 2 weeks and cannot be renewed. What if I don’t have a library card, but need to use an item that is in storage? Delivery to campus mailboxes now available. The UW Libraries will pull material from our shelves, check it out to you and send it to your department via campus mail. Material borrowed through Summit or Interlibrary Loan can also be sent to your department. Current UW faculty and staff at the Bothell, Seattle, and Tacoma campuses and other locations with UW campus box numbers.

Interlibrary Loan borrowing of items is also available for a fee to Cascadia College students, staff, and faculty. Summit utilizes an alliance of Pacific Northwest libraries, while Interlibrary Loan items are sourced from all over the globe. You can find and request items through Summit by searching the UW Library Catalog and viewing request options.
Due to licensing restrictions, ebooks are unavailable through Summit. (See Frequently Asked Questions below about multi-volume requests). If an item is unavailable through UW Libraries and Summit partners, submit an Interlibrary Loan request. Current students, faculty, staff, retirees. Businesses, individuals, UW alumni, UW donors. Other Libraries, archives, museums, and government agencies.
We can scan and deliver journal articles from the UW Libraries print collection and from other libraries directly to you at no charge. This service is available for current UW students, faculty and staff only. If you need an item that cannot be supplied by UW Libraries it may be available through Summit. Summit is a service used to request items from other libraries in the Orbis Cascade Alliance Consortium. Summit libraries lend print items and some audio/visual materials to each other. MORE >
If UW Libraries does not have an item you are looking for, you can make a request for the item using our Interlibrary Loan service. But, before you can use this service, you must register your UW NetID and password at http://www.lib.washington.edu/ill Once you have completed the registration, there are multiple ways to make a request: Option 1.)
