Get information about childcare resources, financial help, and assistance for childcare workers. About 1 of every 8 children has a challenge with development that makes them eligible for Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT). With early support, most children catch up with their peers! ESIT supports children ages 0-3 and their families with milestones like walking, talking, eating, playing, and learning. Families gain skills and knowledge to support their child's needs. We support people who work with young children in King County by investing in promotion, prevention, and early intervention.

This page contains information, opportunities, and resources for individuals and organizations who work with young children and families in King County. Our programs focus on strengthening and empowering families with children. This includes connecting families to needed services and providing training and support to help families build healthy relationships within their family and with community. A family support organization committed to providing services for families, with families, and by families. We are families helping families. We empower and support families and youth struggling with behavioral health challenges in navigating resources to achieve wellness and resilience.

The majority of our services are free of charge. Paying for child care and early learning programs can be a challenge. However, there are many programs available that are here to help! Best Starts for Kids is a King County voter-approved initiative to support every baby born or child raised in King County to reach adulthood happy, healthy, safe, and thriving. Starting in 2022, these investments include $20 million per year for a new child care subsidy program! To find out if you are eligible for this subsidy and to apply, please visit the Best Starts for Kids Child Care Subsidy website.

The Seattle CCAP is available to low-income families who live within Seattle city limits and are unable to access other subsidy programs. Priority is given to families who need care during nonstandard hours such as nights and weekends due to their work or education schedule. Learn more here. The Suburban Cities Child Care Financial Assistance (CCFA) Programs are funded by the Human Services Funding Collaborative and assist low to moderate income families living in Bellevue, Redmond, and Kent. This program does not require caregivers to be employed, but requires families to demonstrate that child care is essential to meeting their basic needs. We offer one-on-one mentoring, group mentoring, and tutoring to 12- to 17-year-olds in King County.

Participating students are matched with carefully trained Black adults who provide support, friendship, encouragement, and advice. We want to make sure these youth graduate from high school—avoiding gangs, violence, addiction, and prison — and then go to college, find meaningful employment, and lead productive lives. Several of the players mentor youth in our 4C Coalition group mentoring program that serves youth ages 12-17. The University of Washington Athletic Department and American Ethnic Studies Department have been in this partnership with the 4C Coalition for the past seven years.
