It’s hard to imagine a more attention-getting activity for students of all ages than the Soil Your Undies Challenge. The name alone evokes questions, and the process is a memorable way for students to understand the multiple factors impacting soil health, as 21 K-12 educators learned at an Engaging Communities NYSUT ELT offers professional learning on a broad range of topics designed to improve the professional skills of educators. Courses and seminars are available in-person, virtual and online and can be used to meet certification requirements or fulfill CTLE hours. Many are provided at a reduced cost for NYSUT members. ELT training covers critical topics such as:
Continuing Teacher Leader Education (CTLE) As of 2016, the State Education Department requires Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) for all holders of professional classroom teaching, educational leadership, or Level III teaching assistant certificates.
