As a result, here’s a look at how the first round could play out after a week’s worth of combine conversations. Although they would ideally move down a few spots to add some more capital to fuel this rebuild, the injury concerns about Abdul Carter’s foot that popped up during the combine could be good... Ward ticked off all the boxes he needed to in Indy, and while he may not be the “generational” prospect the team is looking for, he’s just the kind of pick that can finally...

The 2025 NFL Combine is drawing to a close from Indianapolis and this year’s showcase of the top prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft had plenty of risers and fallers. With the Senior Bowl and the NFL Scouting Combine in the rearview mirror, two of the most critical showcases in the pre-draft process are over. It’s now time for our latest 2025 NFL mock draft to project how Round 1 could unfold. Cam Ward is the best quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft, but Travis Hunter is the best player. Really, this decision should come down to trading down or drafting either Hunter or Abdul Carter. In this case, it’s the two-way player.

Hunter can achieve his potential as an All-Pro corner under Titans defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson and he provides a pass-catching weapon who can be rotated in to help Tennessee’s offense. Once Kirk Cousins is released by the Atlanta Falcons, he can step in as a cost-effective Browns starting quarterback. That allows Cleveland to land Abdul Carter, adding an outstanding pass rusher to pair with Myles Garrett. This pick also allows Cleveland to potentially trade Garrett next offseason, with his replacement already on the roster and having familiarity with the team’s system.

He also impressed in interviews with teams. Now that the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine is in the rearview mirror, it’s a good time to take a step back and reassess what we think we know about this upcoming draft.

The mock draft industry has been humming for months now and there’s definitely a consensus when it comes to certain prospects and teams. However, this is not a class that lends itself to consensus, with tons of prospects where beauty is in the eye of the beholder even for players who are at the top of their... Our Ethan Woodie has done a tremendous job with draft coverage here at NFL Trade Rumors, with a Top 100 Big Board, positional rankings that go 10-15 deep at every group and takeaways from... This is a good time for a fresh perspective, though. Often we already know who the No. 1 pick will be by this point in the calendar, or at least have a pretty good idea.

It still feels wide open for the Titans, which is indicative of the dynamics at play in this particular draft class. Tennessee has official visits scheduled with the top two quarterbacks and Penn State pass rusher Abdul Carter in the coming week. You can connect the dots and figure the Titans hope to decide whether to keep the pick or trade it before free agency begins next week. If they trade the pick, it will be a team coming up for Ward, who has started to establish himself as the clear No. 1 quarterback in this flawed class. He has warts but Ward also has the physical upside to justify a selection this high.

If the Titans keep the pick, the decision is between Ward and Carter. Top pass rushers are hard to find. Quarterbacks are harder, and after gutting through 17 games of Will Levis and Mason Rudolph, I think the Titans will have a lot of motivation to upgrade. The overwhelming sense coming out of the Combine is that the Browns will go quarterback at No. 2 overall, with indications that the apple of their eye is Ward. If Ward goes No.

1, that leaves Sanders as the only other first-round caliber prospect on the board, even though a gulf has started to open between Ward and Sanders for most teams. The only evaluation that matters at the No. 2 pick is the Browns’, though. The 2025 NFL Draft is rapidly approaching with the 2025 NFL Combine in the rear view. Between athletic testing results, updated consensus rankings, insider reports of draft stocks, and my own film grades, there is enough to paint the picture of draft ranges for the top prospects. Here's where I think the 2025 draft class is going to get drafted.

https://play.underdogfantasy.com/p-hayden-winks EDGE1 Abdul Carter: 1.5 higher/lower (1st to 4th overall). TEN, CLE, NYG. QB1 Cam Ward: 2.0 (1st to 3rd). CLE, TEN, NYG. CB1 Travis Hunter: 2.5 (1st to 4th).

NYG, TEN, NE. We’re officially done with the NFL Scouting Combine and now we turn our attention towards NFL free agency. We’ve already seen Sam Darnold sign with the Seahawks and Justin Fields sign with the Jets. As the dominoes continue to fall, we’ll adjust accordingly. For now, this is my post-combine mock draft for the 2025 NFL Draft. For weeks we’ve been hearing about how the Titans want to acquire a generational talent from the 2025 NFL Draft.

From the perspective of the media, that player could be Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter. However, it could also mean they want a quarterback. After all, it’s the most important position in football and the Titans have no clear plan at the position. The consensus feeling coming out of the NFL Scouting Combine is that Cam Ward is the top quarterback in the draft. If that’s the case, I could see a scenario where the Titans settle for a quarterback over any other position. Ward throws some absolute lasers on the field and he’s able to extend plays consistently.

If he’s able to limit the same type of turnovers that we’ve seen from Will Levis, then this is a step in the right direction for the Titans. On this pick, I went back and forth between a quarterback and a pass rusher. Also, at the Senior Bowl, I heard that the Browns were very much interested in Travis Hunter. That could still be the case. Ultimately, I feel as if the Browns will be the most likely landing spot for another veteran quarterback and that opens the door for adding Abdul Carter. He’s the best pass rusher in this draft and would pair perfectly with Garrett or he could be the featured pass rusher for the Browns down the line.

After expanding Sporting News' NFL mock draft for a special two-round edition before the 2025 NFL Combine, it's time to check with another version of first-round projections now that the workouts are finished. With one more small piece of the prospect puzzles being solved and pro days still ahead of the draft late next month, there will be plenty of more fluctuation in terms of where players... Here's breaking down the latest team and pick fits, 1-32. The Titans will be doing their best to trade out of this pick, stockpile other high selections, and still land a QB a little later in the first round (Shedeur Sanders?). They still aren't off Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter, despite his foot injury revealed at the NFL Combine, but the need for a true franchise passer to replace Will Levis would still outweigh... Ward can also go here if a team such as the Giants trades up, too.

Abdul Carter, EDGE, Penn State (6-3, 250 pounds) Hundreds of prospects showed off their skills in Indianapolis over the weekend at the 2025 NFL scouting combine. Many of the top players performed as expected with elite athletes like Texas A&M edge rusher Shemar Stewart leading the way in on-field tests and drills. The top prospect on the board, Colorado's Travis Hunter and Penn State's Abdul Carter, did not participate in the combine's on-field drills. That was the case for many other top-10 consensus players like Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty and Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham. Carter is in very good contention for the No.

1 overall pick currently held by the Tennessee Titans. Though he didn't participate in on-field drills, Carter's stock took a hit with news of a stress reaction in his foot revealed during medical examinations. He's opted against having surgery on it before the draft. This is Carter's second notable injury in the last three months, with the first coming to his shoulder in the Fiesta Bowl. This series of injuries could cause some concern among teams about selecting Carter so high. There's no denying his elite traits, but consistent nagging injuries may decrease his draft stock.

We're following that idea in our latest prediction for the first round of the 2025 NFL draft. No fluff. No life story before the recipe. This week we’re taking everything we saw and heard at the 2025 NFL combine and giving you a Round 1 mock draft update. 1. Tennessee Titans — Abdul Carter, DE, Penn State
