Dr. Peter H. Diamandis, M.D., is the Chairman and CEO of the X PRIZE Foundation, a nonprofit organization that designs and launches global incentive prizes to drive radical breakthroughs for the benefit of humanity. Best known for the $10 million Ansari X PRIZE for private spaceflight, the Foundation is now launching prizes in: Exploration, Life Sciences, Energy & Environment, Education, and Global Development. Dr. Diamandis is also an international leader in the commercial space arena, having founded and run many of the leading entrepreneurial companies in this sector.

Dr. Diamandis serves as Co-Founder & Co-Chairman of Planetary Resources, the world’s first asteroid mining company. He also serves as Co-Founder & Vice-Chairman of Space Adventures, Co-Founder of Zero Gravity Corporation, and Chairman & Co-Founder of the Rocket Racing League. In 2008, Dr. Diamandis co-founded the Singularity University where he serves as Vice-Chancellor and Chairman. In 1987, he co-founded the International Space University (ISU) where he served as the University’s first Managing Director.

Prior to ISU, Dr. Diamandis founded and chaired the Students for the Exploration and Development of Space. Dr. Diamandis attended the MIT where he received his undergraduate degree in molecular genetics and graduate degree in aerospace engineering. After MIT, he attended Harvard Medical School where he received his M.D. In 2005, he was awarded an honorary doctorate from the International Space University.

Peter H. Diamandis (/ˌdiːəˈmændɪs/ DEE-ə-MAN-diss; born May 20, 1961) is an American engineer, physician,[1] and entrepreneur. He is best known as the founder and chairman of the XPRIZE Foundation, and the cofounder and executive chairman of Singularity University. He is also cofounder and former CEO of the Zero Gravity Corporation, cofounder and vice chairman of Space Adventures Ltd., founder and chairman of the Rocket Racing League, cofounder of the International Space University,... Diamandis was born in the Bronx, New York, to Greek immigrants.[3] At age 12, Diamandis won first place a rocket design competition.[4] After graduating from Great Neck North High School in 1979, Diamandis attended Hamilton College for his first year, then transferred to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to study biology and physics.

During his second year at MIT in 1980, he cofounded Students for the Exploration and Development of Space.[5] Diamandis graduated from MIT in 1983[6][7] and entered Harvard Medical School to pursue his MD through the Harvard–MIT Program in Health Sciences and Technology. During his second year of medical school, he cofounded the Space Generation Foundation to promote projects and programs that would help the "Space Generation"—all those born since the flight of Sputnik—get off the planet.[4] In 1986, Diamandis put his medical degree on hold and returned to MIT to pursue a master's degree in aeronautics and astronautics, conducting research at NASA Johnson Space Center, the MIT Man Vehicle Laboratory... at MIT, Diamandis returned to Harvard to complete his M.D.[9] As an entrepreneur, Diamandis has started over 25 companies in the areas of health-tech, space, venture capital and education.

He is Co-founder and Vice-Chairman of two public companies, Celularity and Vaxxinity. Dr. Diamandis is Co-founder & Chairman of Fountain Life, a fully-integrated platform delivering predictive, preventative, personalized and data-driven health. Finally, he also serves as Co-founder of BOLD Capital Partners, a venture fund with a half-billion dollars under management being invested in exponential technologies and longevity companies.
