The Personal Finance Dashboard extracts expenditure data from Bluecoins and creates a dashboard to aid in budgeting and financial management. Bluecoins is an expense tracking app that allows export of data in CSV format. The Personal Finance Dashboard takes this file or any other file with the same CSV format to generate analytics. I’ve been using the Bluecoins app to track my expenses for over a year now, and using my recorded data, I want to gain insights about my expenditure. Some of the questions I aim to answer are as follows: In addition, I wanted to apply what I’ve learned in programming so far.

To set up and run the Personal Finance Dashboard project: Clone the Repository: Clone the project repository to your local machine using the following command: Navigate to the Project Directory: Open your terminal or command prompt and navigate to the directory where you cloned the project.

Install Dependencies: Install the necessary dependencies using npm or yarn: A full-featured personal finance analytics dashboard built with Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Recharts. This project is a Personal Finance Dashboard that utilizes bank statement data to provide valuable insights into your spending and financial habits. The dashboard is designed using Power BI and allows you to track your average weekday spending, monthly debits and credits, and analyze transaction patterns based on different payment types. The dataset used for this dashboard contains the following attributes: Before creating the dashboard, the following data preprocessing steps were performed: Extracting Payment Type: The "Description" field was used to extract the payment type of each transaction. Regular expressions or keyword-based approaches were used to categorize transactions into payment types like "UPI, Card, Internet Banking " etc.

Extracting Month and Weekdays: The "Date" field was utilized to extract the month and weekdays (Monday, Tuesday, etc.) of each transaction. This helps in understanding spending patterns over different periods. In this personal project, I created a financial dashboard using Microsoft Excel and Power BI to track and visualize my income, expenses, and savings. The dashboard is powered by an Excel spreadsheet that serves as the data source.
