The Guidelines offer teachers and educators a document filled with hands-on practical tips and activity plans for the use in primary and secondary education, regardless of their experience in digital education. While containing concrete guidance and examples, the aim of the document is thereby not to prescribe fixed methods, but to provide inspiration and advice to be adapted to national, regional and local contexts. Raising awareness and understanding of disinformation, as well as fostering digital literacy in classrooms and schools, is a key task for all teachers and educators, and should be central components of teacher training courses. The Guidelines and accompanying report is part of the Digital Education Action Plan (Action 9). A flagship initiative of the Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027), the guidelines support teachers and educators in addressing the pressing topics of disinformation and digital literacy in the classroom.
