CU Boulder offers hundreds of online classes available for enrollment throughout the summer. Nervous about taking an online class in summer? Traditional and online courses are offered. Visit the Summer Session website to view course offerings. There are five terms during summer session. Maymester is the first term and students can take one class for 3 hours per day, 5 days a week, for 3 weeks.

Participants chosen for the Academy's Summer 2026 program will work in cohort groups led by an online instructional designer. The four-week training program will take place in February 2026, with weekly remote meetings led by instructional designers. This year’s Online Teaching Academy will explore some of the most exciting developments in online teaching.

It will highlight the thoughtful use of AI, ways to give students a stronger voice and choice in their learning experience and strategies for fostering critical and creative thinking in virtual classrooms. Participants will leave with practical strategies and resources to create online courses that are engaging, inclusive and designed to help every student succeed. Faculty, teaching faculty, lecturers and graduate students eligible and expecting to teach in the upcoming Summer Session may apply.To apply for the Academy, complete the online application. After submitting the online application, ask your department chair to send an email verifying your Summer 2026 teaching status to Suzanne Classen at suzanne.classen@colorado.edu. The deadline for applications is December 1, 2025.Training Program Details Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a one-time $1,500 payment.

The ACCESS (Available Credit Courses for Eligible Special Students) Program, offered in conjunction with many of the university’s academic departments, allows non-degree students to enroll on a space available basis in Boulder main campus... The Applied Music Program allows students to earn CU credit while receiving private or group music lessons. It also provides an opportunity for graduate students to obtain valuable teaching experience. Offered in conjunction with CU Boulder academic departments, the CE Evening Credit Program provides academic, credit-bearing courses in the evening in a variety of formats including in-person, remote and hybrid in-person/online. Bills are available through Buff Portal. A 1% finance charge is added to an unpaid balance after the tuition due date, and a financial stop is placed on your student record. All tuition and refund determinations are subject to audit. CE Online Credit tuition is assessed at a per-credit hour rate in addition to any tuition paid on campus. A single rate is charged regardless of a student’s in-state or out-of-state classification. The below rates reflect tuition for Continuing Education online classes.
