Fifth Avenue was closed to traffic from 42nd Street to 23rd Street in Manhattan as protesters marched from Bryant Park. Streets reopened at 42nd Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues, as well as at 40th Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues, just after 4 p.m.
Police said as of 5 p.m., the rallies have been largely peaceful. There have been three arrests. The charges are unknown. The protests coincide with Saturday's military parade in Washington, D.C., celebrating the U.S. Army's 250th anniversary. It is also President Trump's 79th birthday.
