Week 12 of the NFL season sees a homecoming of sorts. The New Orleans Saints will play host to the Atlanta Falcons in a late-window game on Sunday. FOX Sports has the call and the analyst will be Saints and Big Easy icon Drew Brees. The season may be lost for New Orleans but having the former quarterback back in the Superdome will be a welcomed sight. The week kicks off with an AFC clash between the Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans in the Lone Star State. It concludes Monday night when the Carolina Panthers visit the San Francisco 49ers.

The playoff picture is beginning to take shape as we enter the last third of the year. The top of the AFC features three unexpected teams in the Patriots, Broncos, and Colts; annual front-runners in Kansas City and Buffalo have lagged behind with some concerning losses. In the NFC the Eagles are still one of the best teams in the conference record-wise but continue to win ugly, close games and face sincere questions regarding sustainability on that front.

The Rams beat the Seahawks last week to keep pace with Philly and carve out their place alone atop the NFC West. Mixed into the pack around the league are dangerous teams with fatal flaws like the Lions, Steelers, Chargers, Packers, and Buccaneers. All in all it’s looking like it’ll be a very exciting postseason. Even more exciting? There’s still plenty of football left to be played, and plenty of divisions to be decided. In anticipation of this weekend’s action, let’s break down the coverage map for Sunday’s Week 12 slate.

Coverage maps show exactly what games will be broadcast where around the country on Sunday. After a fun Week 11 slate that featured a number of wild games, the Week 12 slate is a bit more traditional. Last week’s Miami Dolphins vs. Washington Commanders clash in Spain was the final International Series game, so there won’t be any more Sunday morning games for the remainder of the 2025 NFL season. That means there are only three nationally televised primetime games in Week 12. This week kicks off on Thursday night when the Houston Texans host the Buffalo Bills.

Then, on Sunday Night Football, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will travel to the West Coast to take on the Los Angeles Rams. The week will close out with a battle between the Carolina Panthers and San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football. This week, there are four teams with a bye: the Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers, Miami Dolphins, and Washington Commanders. There are just two bye weeks left on the NFL's 2025 schedule. One of them will occur in Week 12, limiting the league's Sunday slate to 12 games overall. The good news? The NFL's international schedule has wrapped for the year. That means the afternoon slate will contain 11 games, with the lone Sunday stand-alone coming during the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Los Angeles Rams "Sunday Night Football" game.

Per usual, the 11 games in the Sunday afternoon slate will be split evenly between CBS and Fox. This week, CBS will have the right to broadcast six of the contests while Fox will get five, as well as the opportunity to broadcast a game in both the early- and late-afternoon windows... Fox's coverage figures to rely heavily on a couple of NFC divisional matchups. The early window will likely feature the Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings game as its main draw, while an NFC East battle between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles will be the top option in the late window. CBS' coverage will be more regionalized.

The media giant has arguably the best game of the slate – the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Indianapolis Colts contest – on its menu. Jim Nantz and Tony Romo will be on the call for that game, a sign that the network plans to treat it as its marquee matchup for Week 12. And they’ve won their last five games, often in close fashion (including 18-16 against the Baltimore Ravens Sunday, a game where they didn’t score a single touchdown). Things are a lot different for the 2-8 Browns. Last season, all four AFC North teams finished above .500, including Cleveland at 11-6 (second in the division to Pittsburgh). But this year, the Browns have fallen way down, and they’re the most dismal of these teams (which will all be featured on a division-wide Hard Knocks: In Season). But they’re only 3.5-point underdogs here, and they have interesting storylines of their own, especially around the quarterback position following Deshaun Watson’s season-ending injury following disappointing play. Veteran Jameis Winston gets the start for them Thursday, and we’ll see what he can do against the tough Steelers’ defense (which has allowed just 16.2 points per game, second in the league).
