Nfl Week 10 Takeaways Pulse Checks For League S Most Embarrassing Team
Week 10 of the 2024 NFL season just wrapped, which means we're officially into the campaign's second half. That means different things for different teams. For squads such as the Detroit Lions who are rolling, it was business as usual (or unusual based on how their Sunday Night Football unraveled). For potential contenders on the fringes, the pressure ratcheted up. There was little margin for error. The week kicked off with a nail-biter between the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens.
It ended with the Miami Dolphins ending a three-game losing streak—and the Los Angeles Rams' three-game winning streak. The Kansas City Chiefs remained undefeated after blocking a last-second, would-be game-winning field-goal attempt from the Denver Broncos. And nine games were decided by one score. San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey made his long-anticipated 2024 debut. The Dallas Cowboys' Micah Parsons also returned from injury. One helped his team win; the other didn't.
The 32 things we learned from Week 10 of the 2025 NFL season: 1. “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” If you didn’t think you’d be learning (or getting a refresher on) Biblical quotes in this week’s installment, that one is from the fifth... Worth wondering if several of the NFL’s meeker teams read it prior to Sunday’s action. 2. The number of consecutive games won by the New York Jets, who started the 2025 season with an 0-7 record that rendered them the final team to break into the win column.
3. The NYJ prevailed Sunday despite being without arguably their two best defensive players, CB Sauce Gardner and DT Quinnen Williams, who definitely are no longer their best defensive players after they were stunningly exported... 4 trade deadline. 4. The number of sacks collected Sunday against the Cleveland Browns by Jets DE Will McDonald IV, who established a new career high, tied the franchise single-game record and staked a claim as Gang Green’s... Taylor forced 11 missed tackles and gained 165 extra yards, the most by any player this season. NFL Research: Jonathan Taylor joined Jim Brown, Adrian Peterson and Derrick Henry as the only RBs with multiple career games with 200-plus rushing yards and 3-plus rushing TDs. Taylor's 286 scrimmage yards on Sunday are the most in a game by a player in Colts history, overtaking Marshall Faulk’s 267-yard game in Week 13, 1998. Next Gen Stats Insight for Saints-Panthers (via NFL Pro): Much of Tyler Shough’s production was directed outside the numbers, as he finished 11 of 16 for 202 yards and both of his touchdowns on...
His yardage total outside the numbers was the second-most by a Saints quarterback in the last eight seasons and most by any rookie in 2025. NFL Research: The Panthers had their sixth game of the season with seven or fewer points in the first half. Carolina is 2-15 when Bryce Young starts at QB and has less than 70 yards in the first half in his career. San Francisco 49ers quarterback Mac Jones threw a 13-yard passing touchdown to tight end George Kittle in which the All-Pro tight end toe-tapped the sideline to get into the end zone. Rams lead 42-26. Los Angeles quarterback Matthew Stafford connects with tight end Colby Parkinson on a 16-yard scoring strike, his fourth of the day.
Stafford has completed 24 of his 36 passes for 280 yards and four touchdowns. He now has 20 passing touchdowns and no interceptions in the last six games, which is the most touchdowns without an interception in a six-game span within a season all-time. Stafford is also the first player in NFL history with four or more passing touchdowns and no interceptions in three straight games. Arizona wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. reels in a nice back shoulder grab for a nine-yard touchdown catch. The Cardinals now trail by 19, 41-22, with 9:50 left to play.
That would be Matthew Stafford, Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams. They've been on an absolute tear lately, which includes Sunday's domination of the 49ers. Detroit has put this game to bed early in the fourth quarter. Gibbs turns on the jets to break away for a 44-yard rushing touchdown. The Lions lead 41-16 after their extra point got blocked with 12:50 left to play. Having already written about the Patriots’ success and two NFC West teams peaking before a big battle next week, let’s now put a wrap on our Week 10 coverage with the takeaways.
Let’s dive in … The Bears had been carrying Caleb Williams for a while, but in the last couple of weeks, the second-year quarterback has returned the favor. In running off four consecutive wins after the team’s 0–2 start, the rugged run game and defense Ben Johnson and his staff built gave the second-year quarterback room for error, as Williams grew and... Last week, it was with a miracle comeback in Cincinnati, punctuated by a seam pass to Colston Loveland to vanquish Joe Flacco & Co. This week, it was with drives of 91 and 53 yards over the game’s final 6:13, both jump-started by a series of Williams throws. Both ended with big Williams scrambles, with the quarterback breaking to his left, then breaking contain, the first for 29 yards to set up a Rome Odunze touchdown catch, the second a 17-yard touchdown...

“When you have gone through it and seen it through, you operate in the knowing.” And explains where they’re getting to with Williams as well. Sunday Rundown recaps the most important developments from the day's action and examines their significance moving forward. We've known this to be true for years, but it somehow doesn't get any easier to believe. They're just built different. The Broncos did everything right. Vance Joseph's defense was once again swarming.
Denver put Patrick Mahomes under pressure on 40.8% of dropbacks, the highest rate he's faced since Week 8 of last season, according to Next Gen Stats. The result: Kansas City was limited to a season-low 16 points. The Broncos' offense did its part, too. Bo Nix wasn't spectacular, but he avoided catastrophic mistakes and made a few big passes. Trailing by two, getting the offense in position for a 35-yard field-goal try as time expired should've been enough for the win. But this is the Chiefs we're talking about.
The coaching prowess and seemingly infectious knack for making big plays also extends to Dave Toub's special teams unit. An incredible surge off the left side saw the Chiefs break through for the game-winning block, keeping their undefeated run alive in thrilling fashion.
