Nfl Power Rankings Week 10 Seahawks And Rams Soar Into Top 2 Spots
Folks, we just experienced Power Rankings history. Never before -- at least on my watch -- have the top four teams all lost in the same week. But that happened on a wild Sunday, as the Lions, Colts, Chiefs and Packers all went down, with two of those nominal Super Bowl contenders falling at home. Perhaps we're underrating the Panthers and Vikings (with J.J. McCarthy back), yet it's still a tough look for those of us who slave all week long in the Power Rankings laboratory, trying to cook up the most accurate NFL pecking order. That's why I wanted to reward the Seahawks for their rollicking win at Washington on Sunday night, when they controlled the game from jump street.
Some eagle-eyed Seattle fans rightfully raked me over the coals last week for dropping their team two spots after its bye, even if my intent was to spotlight a few clubs that shined while... The 'Hawks looked beyond rested against the Commanders, improving to 4-0 on the road in dominant fashion. Also dominant were the division-rival Rams, who have won three straight. We're at the midpoint of the 2025 campaign, and it's hard to say many teams have been as consistently good as these NFC West rivals -- who, we should note, are set to meet... It's rarely clean or easy around here, but when it comes to the Power Rankings, we aim to right wrongs and get everything as correct as we can, even if that means swabbing down... NOTE: Up/down arrows below reflect movement from the Week 9 Power Rankings.
Welcome to Week 10 of the Power Rankings. Like the globe at the end of Pangea, we’ve broken off into separate nations. In this case, two of them: a land of teams that are legitimately fun, interesting and competitive, and another featuring teams who will vanish in our consciousness until the Senior Bowl. That line feels as definitive as it has been in quite some time, ending with the 49ers at No. 15. Luckily for us, the injection of the Colts, Seahawks and Broncos into the top 10 feels permanent to some degree, and we no longer have to worship the aura of the Lions, Bills, Chiefs...
We have the premier matchup of the year coming in a week … and it has nothing to do with Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen. Not that I’m sick of watching those players—quite the opposite. But I am ready for a new land. A new Earth. Last week’s ranking: No. 1Last week’s result: beat Cardinals, 44–22This week: at Rams
Of the four largest first half point totals of the season so far, three of them belong to the Seahawks. This team is exploding in a different way every week—deep passing, gutting turnovers, take your pick. While I would like to see more efficiency from the run game, no one has gotten close enough to the Seahawks to pose a meaningful challenge and force them to play left handed. The Rams may be that team a week from now. © 2025 WWB Holdings, LLC. All rights reserved
Matthew Stafford (9), Kyren Williams (23), and the Rams have been playing excellent football. As discussed here in recent power rankings, the first weeks of November are giving us some true clashes of titans – not the Tennessee Titans – and the opportunity for major movement up and... In Week 10 alone, three top-10 teams went down, none more shocking than the No. 7 Buffalo Bills getting humiliated on the road by the No. 30 Miami Dolphins by 17 points. The Patriots finally cracked the top 10 with their impressive win over the No.
2 Buccaneers, whose injuries ultimately came back to haunt them, and the Texans became the latest NFL team to erase a double-digit fourth-quarter deficit by rallying from down 19 to beat a Jags team... Seattle Seahawks fans, take note: Your team is legit -- as if you needed me to say it. For some reason, Seahawks fans think I hate their team. That's not close to the truth, even if that perception lingers from the days when I used to say Russell Wilson was never as good as they thought. Sam Darnold is good, the Seattle defense is nasty and the Seahawks have a real shot to win the NFC West -- and do so much more. Seattle's blowout of the Washington Commanders on Sunday night was a clinic by Darnold and also featured a swarming, attacking defense that ranks fifth in the league in scoring (18.8 points allowed per game)...
At 6-2, the Seahawks are tied with the Los Angeles Rams for the NFC West lead and look like a team getting better by the week. The Los Angeles Rams established themselves in the top tier of the NFL after their blowout victory over the New Orleans Saints in Week 9. It was the third consecutive game in which the defense allowed 10 points or fewer, and the second consecutive game in which the offense scored more than 30 points. At 6-2, LA is tied atop the NFC West and firing on all cylinders as the team barrels into the second half of the season. So long as Matthew Stafford is healthy and the defense is playing at an elite level, the Rams will be among the best teams in the league. And more experts agree.
L.A. ranked in the top five of seven of the eight publications in our roundup. The Rams took the top spot in two of them. Has there been a more valuable player than QB Matthew Stafford? Is there a more imposing defense in the NFC? Since losing to the Niners in Week 5, LA has won its past three games by an aggregate score of 86-20.
Next? An opportunity for payback at San Francisco. The Rams have survived a couple of Puka Nacua injuries, and Matthew Stafford is playing at an MVP level. Sean McVay has this team rolling once again, yet it’s not the offense that’s carrying the team. L.A. quietly ranks No.
1 in defensive expected points added per play. Week 9 of the 2025 NFL season saw the Indianapolis Colts’ hot streak come to a halt, the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs square off in another instant classic, and the Chicago Bears... These games, among others, led to movement in our PFSN power rankings this week compared to last. Here’s how the league is shaping up nine weeks into the season. An interception returned for a touchdown by Cody Barton and a punt return for a touchdown by Chimere Dike kept the Tennessee Titans competitive in their matchup against the Chargers. Their offense couldn’t pick up the slack, though, and that cost them the matchup on Sunday.
The Titans come out of Week 9 with a 1-8 record in the 2025 NFL season so far. Their offense has been abysmal, and the defense isn’t at a level that can make up for those struggles quite yet. Another year with the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft might be in the cards for Tennessee. The New Orleans Saints kicked off the Tyler Shough era on Sunday, having benched Spencer Rattler in favor of the Louisville rookie for Week 9. It provided more of the same for them, however, as they fell 34-10 to the Rams in a game in which they were overwhelmed in all phases.
