We’d normally go long for an NFL recap today, but a lighter Sunday slate (due to those Saturday games) and a big Athletic report made me call an audible at the line of scrimmage... Three big winners — and one loser — from yesterday’s games: 👍 Winner: New England Patriots A year after finishing 4-13 for the second straight season, the Patriots are 12-3 and officially back in the postseason after a gutsy 28-24 win on the road in... A late Rhamondre Stevenson touchdown, combined with an ensuing fumble forced by K’Lavon Chaisson, clinched it. New England is a near lock, per our simulator, to win the AFC East, while the 7-8 Ravens have just a 9 percent chance to make the playoffs. Woof.
Sherrone Moore started out looking calm, breaking into an easy smile, standing on a football field, wearing a Michigan cap, staring into a TV camera — the moment most of America was introduced to... “First on the win, to say this has been a crazy 24 hours for your guys,” Fox sideline reporter Jenny Taft said after Michigan football beat Penn State on the road on Nov. 11, 2023. “To win on the road, in this environment, when there were doubts — Sherrone, what does it mean to you?” Then, it was like a flip was switched. Moore was overcome with emotion and started wiping tears.
"I want to thank the Lord," Moore said. "I want to thank coach (Jim) Harbaugh." Harbaugh had missed the game as part of a three-game suspension by the Big Ten, a couple weeks after the public learned about the Connor Stalions sign-stealing scandal. Barely 24 hours before the game in Happy Valley, Moore had been named acting head coach. "I (expletive) love you man,” Moore said, his voice cracking. Now, he was sobbing.
“I love the (expletive) out of you man.” Editor's Note: This story has been with new information. Sherrone Moore was fired at the University of Michigan on Wednesday, Dec. 10, after the university found "credible evidence" of him being "engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member." In the immediate hours following Moore's dismissal from Michigan, the Saline Police Department then assisted the Pittsfield Township Police in detaining the ex-Wolverines coach, according to reports. He remains in custody at the Washtenaw County Jail in Michigan, after being booked at 8:30 p.m.
ET on Dec. 10, according to online court records. The 39-year-old coach took over the Wolverines program in 2024 after Jim Harbaugh left Michigan to coach the NFL's Los Angeles Chargers following the 2024 College Football Playoff championship game. Here's what to know on why Moore was arrested: Sherrone Moore had "a long history of domestic violence," the attorney alleged. There are more details about the arrest of former University of Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore, who has been charged with home invasion and stalking, including allegations that he "had a long history of...
A Pittsfield Township Police detective testified during a probable cause hearing on Dec. 12. She gave a timeline of the events leading up to Moore's arrest on Dec. 10 at the apartment of the unnamed woman, who was allegedly having an affair with the 39-year-old married father of three, according to prosecutors. Detective Jessica Welker told the court that at 4:10 p.m. on that day, officers were dispatched to the alleged victim's address after her attorney, Heidi Sharp, called the police.
Sharp alerted the police that her client said, "Moore was inside her home, attacking her," Welker testified. Welker testified that Sharp advised that "Moore had a long history of domestic violence against [name withheld] and that he was very dangerous," according to the transcript of the hearing. All eyes were on the Michigan QB with the transfer portal open. Michigan football's coaching hire was given a resounding approval from one prominent alumnus. There's a new Michigan man after a scandal-plagued end to the last coach's tenure. "If you didn’t know, you’re an idiot – it was too obvious.”
Things between the two took an ugly turn in February. The coaching carousel received a jolt on Dec. 10, when Michigan announced it was firing head coach Sherrone Moore for cause. Moore, who had just wrapped up his second season with the Wolverines, posted an 18-8 record as head coach. Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel announced the decision Wednesday afternoon, saying Moore had engaged in an "inappropriate relationship" with a staffer. Moore was also arrested on the evening of Dec.
10 as part of an investigation into a alleged assault. He was charged with home invasion in the third degree, stalking and breaking and entering on Friday afternoon. Moore finished the 2025 regular season 9-3. Michigan is set to face Texas in the Citrus Bowl. Here’s what to know about the charges facing Moore, his status with Michigan and more. According to Michigan, Moore was fired for "credible evidence" that Moore had engaged in an "inappropriate relationship" with a UM staffer.
December 11, 2025, 4:10pm EST 4K+ • By Lou Flavius The fallout from Sherrone Moore’s firing at Michigan continues… A University of Michigan insider has made some curious revelations following the stunning events of the last 24 hours. Sherrone Moore is no longer the head coach of the football program at UM, with the school having terminated him for cause on Wednesday. Moore is accused of carrying on an inappropriate relationship with a staffer who worked under him. And, given the method of dismissal, he won’t be enjoying a buyout sum.
John U. Bacon, a renowned author with deep ties to the university, spoke to FOX on Thursday.
