FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Tom Brady's statue weighs six tons and rises 17 feet off the ground, from the bottom of the six-sided base -- one for each of the New England Patriots' Super Bowl victories --... For a player who was too slow and immobile coming out of college to merit more than a No. 199 draft pick, that seems just about right. "When I was drafted, I just hoped to make the team. I never dreamed I'll be standing here two and a half decades later, made of bronze and frozen in time," Brady said Friday night at a ceremony to unveil the statue before the Patriots'...

Updated on: August 8, 2025 / 6:55 PM EDT / CBS Boston The Tom Brady statue outside Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts was unveiled Friday by the New England Patriots. Thousands of fans packed the plaza for the unveiling ceremony, many of them decked out in No.

12 Patriots jerseys. The ceremony included two video tributes for Brady – one of his career highlights and another looking back to his Patriots Hall of Fame induction last summer – and comments from Brady and Patriots... The statue is located outside the team's Hall of Fame at Patriots Place and will greet fans as they enter Gillette Stadium. It truly makes Brady a "Patriot for life," as the quarterback professed during his Patriots Hall of Fame induction ceremony inside a packed Gillette Stadium last June. The statue recreates Brady in a celebratory pose with his right fist raised in the air and his helmet in his left hand. It's not any one specific celebration during the quarterback's 20-year career in New England, since it would have been hard to pick just one.

The face of the statue replicates the laser-focused look Brady possessed during games throughout his career. The New England Patriots have officially confirmed the unveiling date for a statue commemorating the franchise's most iconic player, Tom Brady. The long-anticipated ceremony is scheduled for Aug. 8, 2025, prior to the Patriots’ preseason opener against the Washington Commanders at Gillette Stadium. The bronze statue, standing 11 feet, 10 inches tall, was completed in 2024 but remained in storage due to Brady’s obligations as an NFL broadcaster, which prevented him from attending an unveiling last year. Patriots owner Robert Kraft confirmed that the organization spent seven figures, specifically $7.3 million, on the project, which shows Brady’s monumental impact on the franchise.

During an appearance on the Dudes on Dudes podcast with Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski, Kraft elaborated on the delay and significance of the tribute. “Most sixth-round picks fade into obscurity,” Kraft said, via MassLive. “They’re practice squad fodder, special teams contributors if they’re lucky. But when I talk about spending seven figures on a statue, you know this wasn’t just any player. We made the statue last year. Tommy started broadcasting, and so we couldn’t get him up.

So, we have him coming August 8.” Tom Brady’s career with the Patriots is unparalleled. Selected as the 199th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft, he defied all expectations to become the face of a dynasty. He led the Patriots to six Super Bowl titles and appeared in nine Super Bowls with the team. His overall career included 10 Super Bowl appearances and seven championships, making him the winningest player in NFL history.
