netflix officially announces full broadcasting crew for christmas day

For the second straight year, the NFL is turning to Netflix to help broadcast their now annual slate of Christmas Day games. As the league celebrates the holiday, Netflix will be airing the first two of the NFL’s three Christmas Day Games. Netflix will broadcast a game between the Cowboys at the Commanders at 1 p.m. ET followed by a matchup between the Lions at the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. ET. The holiday will conclude with the NFL’s final game—Broncos at Chiefs—taking place at 8:15 p.m.

ET on Amazon Prime. As the holiday season approaches, here’s a look at the broadcast teams for the two Netflix games. The Netflix Christmas Day broadcasts will be a family affair once again for CBS Sports’ Ian Eagle and NBC Sports’ Noah Eagle, with the father-son duo each calling a Netflix game this year. Both Ian and Noah also called games for the NFL on Christmas last year. Ian will be joined in the booth by CBS Sports’ analysts Nate Burleson and Matt Ryan. Burleson and Ryan typically work on the CBS pregame desk, but they will get the opportunity to call a game this Christmas.

CBS Sports’ Melanie Collins will return to the sidelines on Christmas this year while NFL Network’s Sara Walsh joins the Christmas broadcast for the first time. Netflix is preparing its second annual holiday broadcast, bringing back the father-son announcing team of Ian and Noah Eagle to call the Christmas Day doubleheader. While the production is handled by CBS Sports, the streamer has assembled a unique, cross-network crew of play-by-play callers, analysts, and studio hosts, blending established voices with new talent. The two-game slate features a distinct team for each matchup, including the return of former Super Bowl-winning quarterback Drew Brees to the broadcast booth for the afternoon showdown. There is a diverse roster featuring NFL legends and people who are in the booth regularly. Here's who will be calling the Christmas games on Netflix.

Netflix is set for its second year of exclusive Christmas Day NFL coverage with the familiar father-son broadcasting duo of Ian and Noah Eagle leading the play-by-play. The broadcasts, produced by CBS Sports, feature a mix of established network analysts and new voices for the two NFC matchups. For the early game, Ian Eagle is paired with analyst Nate Burleson and former NFL MVP Matt Ryan. In the afternoon, Noah Eagle will be joined by analyst and former Super Bowl champion Drew Brees. The rest of the crew features sideline reporters and rules analysts pulled from various networks. Our system has indicated that your user behaviour is potentially automated.

We don't know if there'll be snow, but some NFL teams will be having a cup of cheer – especially at Netflix and Amazon.

The league is gifting the streamers a tripleheader of games for Christmas, building off the doubleheader they featured in 2024. Division matchups are the theme for this year's festivities as the Washington Commanders host the Dallas Cowboys followed by the Minnesota Vikings taking on the Detroit Lions. The slate wraps up with the Denver Broncos visiting the AFC West rival Kansas City Chiefs. It's a trio of games that has lost some luster – and star power – over the course of the season, but that doesn't mean that Netflix and Amazon aren't bringing their "A" game. Netflix has stepped it up with a loaded lineup of talent, personalities and more for their two games of the day. With a dedicated pregame show on-site at each game, the streamer is making each game feel like a special occasion.

Amazon is set to feature its traditional "Thursday Night Football" crew for the nightcap in Kansas City. Just like the gifts under the tree, there is something for everyone on the broadcast this year. Here's a look at who will be on the call for the NFL's Christmas games in 2025. It's not even Halloween and we're gearing up for NFL Christmas Gameday on Netflix! Take a sneak peek at our on-air talent with our confirmed booth talent in Washington, D.C. and Minneapolis.

Additional on-air talent names to be announced in the weeks to come. Netflix's NFL Christmas Gameday 2024 reached 65 million U.S. viewers, according to Nielsen. Netflix delivered the two most streamed NFL games in U.S. history with an average audience of over 26.5 million viewers in the U.S. and over 30 million viewers globally, highlighted by Beyoncé's epic halftime performance.

The game will be available globally to Netflix subscribers in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and German. The second NFL broadcast on Netflix is going to look a lot different than the first. At least as far as the talent is concerned, with ESPN and Fox reportedly no longer allowing their broadcasters (with one exception) to be a part of the streamer’s Christmas Day showcase. On Tuesday, Netflix officially announced its broadcasting plans for next month’s doubleheader. And as expected, there are plenty of changes from last year’s debut, which drew rave reviews from both a talent and production standpoint. As had previously been reported by Front Office Sports, Netflix’s two broadcast teams will feature Ian Eagle, Matt Ryan and Nate Burleson on the call for the 1 p.m.

ET game between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders and Noah Eagle and Drew Brees calling the Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings at 4:30 p.m. ET. Compared to last year’s Netflix broadcast, Ryan will replace J.J. Watt, who is now the No. 2 game analyst for CBS, with Brees taking the spot that Fox’s Greg Olsen filled opposite Noah Eagle last Christmas.

While Brees recently joined Fox as its No. 3 game analyst, Front Office Sports’ Michael McCarthy reported last week that the network is allowing the Super Bowl-winning quarterback to fulfill his Netflix assignment since it was agreed to prior to his hiring. No other Fox or ESPN talent is expected to be a part of this year’s Christmas Day broadcast. Netflix will have a full house on Christmas Day. Ahead of the streaming platform's first NFL doubleheader on Christmas Day— Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Kansas City Chiefs (1 p.m.

ET), followed by Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans (4:30 p.m. ET) — Netflix announced an extensive, star-studded lineup that features analysts from many networks. Ian Eagle (CBS) will kick things off as the play-by-play announcer for the first matchup between the Steelers and Chiefs at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh. He will be accompanied in the booth by analysts Nate Burleson (CBS) and J.J. Watt (CBS) and on the sidelines by Melanie Collins (CBS) and Stacey Dales (NFL Network).

Eagle will then pass things off to his son, play-by-play announcer Noah Eagle (NBC Sports), for the Texans' matchup against the Ravens at NRG Stadium in Houston. Greg Olsen (FOX Sports) will serve as the analyst alongside Eagle, while Jamie Erdahl (NFL Network) and Steve Wyche (NFL Network) will be on the sidelines. ROBERT GRIFFIN III:Returning as analyst on Netflix for NFL Christmas Day doubleheader Netflix will air two NFL games on Christmas Day for the second straight year, both featuring division rivals. The slate opens with the Washington Commanders hosting the Dallas Cowboys, followed by the Minnesota Vikings taking on the Detroit Lions later in the day. In addition to the on-field action, Netflix’s broadcast team features a lineup of familiar names and notable talent.

Leading the early game broadcast is Ian Eagle on play-by-play. Eagle, one of the top voices in sports, calls NFL and college basketball for CBS and also covers the Brooklyn Nets for YES Network and NBA games on Prime Video. Joining Eagle as game analysts are former NFL MVP Matt Ryan and Emmy Award winner Nate Burleson, both mainstays on CBS’s “NFL Today” crew. Sideline reporting will be handled by Sara Walsh of NFL Network and Melanie Collins of CBS. For the pregame and postgame shows, Kay Adams will serve as desk host, joined by NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin, three-time Super Bowl champion Devin McCourty, and Austin Ekeler, who makes his first... (Ekeler was PFSN’s No.

4-ranked RB on its impact metric in 2021.) Adams typically works with FanDuel TV, Irvin with NFL Network, and McCourty on NBC’s “Football Night in America.” Calling the second game is Noah Eagle, the son of Ian Eagle, on play-by-play. He also covers college football for NBC Sports and the Brooklyn Nets for YES Network.
